Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2013
Very good, used regular mushroom as didn't have golden mushroom soup. Turned out great!

Pasta Salad a la Honeybear

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
This recipe was exactly what I was looking for. A local restaurant makes a salad similar to this and I have been on a mission to find the recipe since! This is even better than the restaurant version, but like most suggested, it does require double the amount of mayo/Italian dressing mix at least, or more if you want a creamier salad. I didn't have any roasted red peppers so I used some sun dried tomatoes instead. No complaints!

Grilled Garlic Parmesan Zucchini

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Baked these in the oven, 350 for 10 or 15 minutes. Just sliced a large zucchini into rounds and enjoyed immensely. Will be making these again for sure!

Easy Iced Coffee

Way better than store bought and you can use decaf, evap milk, many different substitutions. I found it needed double sugar, but I like my coffee sweet!

Lobster Tails Steamed in Beer

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
This is the first time I have ever cooked lobster anything. I used 4 small-ish rock lobster tails and boiled 1 bottle of Kokanee. I think 10 minutes was a bit too long but I drizzled garlic butter over these in the serving dish and everyone raved about them for Father's Day dinner. Will definitely make these again for special occasions.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2013
The name should be changed to best meat marinade, we use it on ribs, pork chops, chicken, etc and it always tastes amazing. Definitely a keeper!!

Apple Butter Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2013
Made this for Easter dinner at the in-laws. A large family gathering with many picky eaters. I was asked last minute to bring a ham, and so only had a toupie ham in the freezer, nothing special. I made this glaze and followed the recipe exactly, basting the ham during the last half hour of cooking. Rave reviews all around from ham lovers and haters alike. I will actually be making apple butter this year just to make more ingredients for this ham glaze. I doubt I will ever use any other recipe. My toddler twins gobbled it up!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2013
Made it exactly as written, wasn't too bad, could use a bit more flavour. Maybe more cumin next time. Great way to use up leftover turkey!!

Meatball Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
As is was OK, a little runny for our taste. I had left overs and the pasta had sucked up some of the moisture, so much better the next day with a little water and onion soup mix added. Also used a whole bag of meatballs, which was my own fault and too much! Next time only half.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2012
Out of this world perfect! The only changes I made were to add 1.5 tsp of vanilla and 1 cup of chocolate chips. Everyone who has this says its the best banana bread they have ever had, even picky eaters and banana bread haters!

Brazilian Fish Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2012
Made this recipe as written, except only 1 green pepper and a few scallions (what I had on hand). Added some rice anda few dashes of Frank's Chili Lime. Splendid! With the rice added this serves about 10-12 people though! Oh well, good thing this is such a yummy dish!!

Curried Couscous Salad with Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2012
I didn't have cuckes or chickpeas so omitted them, but added tomatoes and green pepper. Otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Would be delicious warm or cold, as a main dish or side dish. Definitely don't skip the bacon and caramelized onion step though, that takes it from a 4 star to a 5 star dish!!! Oh, I also added a few artichoke hearts because I had some that needed to be used up. Super dish!!! :-)

Cross Rib Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2012
I gave this a 3 and my husband gave it a 5. Followed the recipe exactly and it came out ok. My husband really liked it, I found it a bit dry and bland. Maybe my roast wasn't quite 5 lbs though and I also did try and 'slow cook' this in the oven as my slow cooker is broken.

Caramel Apple Dip

Awesome! Added vanilla (about 2 tsp to the caramel mixture) as others suggested. Made a double batch the day before and left it in the fridge. Still perfect the next day and totally gone!

Aw-some Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
Just an awesome recipe. Like many others I added some celery seed and used bagged coleslaw. I found that the dressing was sufficient for 2 14 oz bags of coleslaw. Although I did add abput a half cup of minced onion.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
So yummy! Did as others suggested and added chipotle peppers to 'wet' ingredients and doubled the amount of olive oil and garlic. I also put the chicken breasts in a ziploc bag and marinated them in the olive oil/garlic mixture before dipping them in the bread crumbs. So yummy and will definitely be making this again and again! :-) It too about an hour to cook.

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Just amazing!! I didn't get the roast out in time to thaw so I threw it in the microwave on defrost and then chucked in in the slow cooker on high for approximately 4 hours. This sauce amount was not enough because of the higher temperature, so after I shredded the beef, I ended up adding about a cup of our favourite BBQ sauce. My husband ate about 3 helpings that night, and has taken it for the lunch the last couple of days as a sandwich filling. Everyone at our house loved, loved, LOVED this!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
This recipe was great, even my red meat loving husband gave them a 10 out of 10. I found that I ended up using 1.5 cups of rolled oats and 2 eggs and then froze the patties for around 10-15 minutes before cooking them and they stayed together great! I also added a dash of salt and pepper as well as a pinch of cilantro as suggested by other reviewers. As is, I'm not sure these 'burgers' would stay together, hence the 4 stars out of 5. Otherwise - delish!

Crispy Mashed Potato Pancake

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
I really liked this recipe as it was a great way to use up leftover mashed potatoes. It is also very easy to double (or triple!). The only change I made was adding a quarter cup of flour and an egg for each cup of mashed potatoes. I then fried them in a frying pan with oil and left them until the bottoms were brown and flipped them carefully. Once they were cooked on both sides they held together well and tasted even better the next day reheated for lunch!
