Cindy's Snappy Sensational Superfood Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
After reading the reviews saying it was too bland, I tried to dress it up with beef broth, a can of diced tomatoes and some ginger. My husband liked it, but I wasn't so sure. I need to try it again with just the base recipe - I think only the tomatoes should have stayed.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2012
5 stars for speed. I made this up as a last-minute dessert for company, and it took maybe 5 minutes to prepare. I'd say it was supposed to serve 6, but our guests went back for seconds and thirds and it didn't survive the hour.

Slow Cooker Thai Pork with Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
I use this recipe maybe once a month, with varied success that's probably completely my fault. Sometimes it comes out too soupy, and sometimes too dry. When it comes out well or soupy it's great and we eat it over rice. The peppers do tend to shrink down to unrecognizable pepperyness, but we also cook it for 6-8 hours depending on who is home on time.

Bean Soup With Kale

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Since we took part a CSA this year, we've had far more kale than we've seen in our lives. This recipe is great for annihilating it. I usually add 1-2 cans of diced tomatoes rather than fresh, and throw in some chopped zucchini. I seem to add red pepper flakes to everything because I like the heat, and this get a teaspoon as well. The flavor is great, and my husband inhales it.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
I can't rate this any less since I've made this recipe at least a dozen times. Make sure you let the flour mixture cook until it's thick or else you won't get the creamy soup texture. You really can add whatever you like to the soup, but I keep it to the ham and potato. I do find it benefits from a good amount of black pepper.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
This is perfect party food. I brought a batch to a 4th of July party and none were left. I didn't know how hot the jalapenos would be, so I also added a few shakes of red pepper flakes to the filling mix. They came out at a very good level -- probably almost too hot for some, but the right kick for most. I had a lot of leftover filling that became omelette filling that morning.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
I've made these a number of times and there's never any left. The bacon can be a pain to cut in thirds and still wrap, sometimes I use a half or more than a third and use the remnants to make Franken-meat-candies.
