Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
THis turkey was legit the bomb.com. SUPER moist. THe moistest of any turkey. Everybody lost their BUTTS over this turkey. I strongly suggest that everyone do this. I also didn't know that you could pull the skin back on the turkey, so I cut pockets into it for the butter. Turned out fantastically.

Cajun Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I hosted a "Rajun' Cajun'" night and this etouffee was gone in a FLASH. For the love of GOD make this. Be very careful not to burn the roux. I picked up the phone because my husband was calling from a different state. It was only about a 4 minute conversation, and I TOTALLY burned it. Had to start all over. Watch it like a HAWK.

AMAZING. I made this for a dinner party of six and we ate the entire thing and felt really sick afterwards. A great dessert to have if you have any self-control. Clearly, I do not.

Swiss Cheese 'n' Onion Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I made this tonight for our "breakfast for dinner" night with my Father. He's a vegetarian so I needed something that would be delicious meatless. The only change I made was adding green onion in with the white onion. IT WAS SO GOOD! Everybody complimented me on the flavor and presentation of the dish. I give it five stars all the way!!

Whole Wheat Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I made these for a book club cookie exchange, we ended up getting completely drunk on wine and digging into the boxes of cookies. Everyone went crazy for these and we ate ALL of them in about an hour. I have been searching and SEARCHING for a whole wheat flour ginger cookie that tastes as delicious as its regular flour counterparts. THIS IS THE ONE! MY GOD! Cooking them for exactly 10 minutes made the perfect cookie. I shorted the flour a tiny bit and didn't add as much molasses, simply because I didn't have what I needed. I replaced it with maple syrup and it worked brilliantly. This batch made me over 75 cookies. PERFECT recipe for a cookie exchange/ christmas time gifts. CAUTION: If you get drunk you will eat all of these cookies. Sidebar: they're just as delicious sober.

Taffy Apple Salad II

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
MMMMM oh boy this is delicious! I brought it to work and everyone asked for the recipe. The only changes I made were apple cider vinegar instead of white wine, and I also used lite coolwhip and splenda instead of real sugar. It turned out creamy and crunchy and PERFECT! I will DEFINITELY be using this again.
