I made this cake for Memorial Day cookout and it was the highlight of the day. This cake baked up perfectly and I used a cream cheese frosting recipe and put fresh strawberries between the layers. I followed the advice of others by measuring the cake flour after it was sifted, and also separting the egg yoks from the whites. I also used fresh strawberries to make my puree. This will definitly go down as one of my favorites.

This is an excellent receipe! I made this last night for my husband and his buddies and they all raved and wanted to know what was in it. I made a few changes; I used roast beef and turkey for the meats and pepper jack and swiss cheese. I also sauteed onions, mushrooms, and green peppers and added them to the bake. I would highly reccommend.
