Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2012
Sorry, not the "best":/ followed recipe to a "T" but left out the walnuts. Followed a previous reviewer and leveled the flour, also after baking 2 batches I found they needed to bake about 11-12 minutes...very carefully followed all other directions as written. Right out of the oven cookies had an odd flavor/texture (no fun when you can't eat warm cookies:( After cooling they are soft...overall just not crazy about the texture/taste. Another reviewer mentioned that this looked like an average recipe, I agree and I got average cookie results. Not terrible (they baked up really pretty) but also not the best I've ever had. Fwiw I also tried the other top chocolate chip cookie recipe on here & was also not a fan...so maybe It's just me:)

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
These brownies are awesome! Some of the reviews I read said that they turned out like cake squares, but mine turned out to be fudgy-definitely brownies! Will make these again and again-no more boxed mix for me!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2008
After reading many reviews I made this with half the liquid and less eggs. I'm glad I did as the other reviews of those who liked the original recipe wanted more of a bread pudding. I did sub. cinnamon bun coffee creamer in place of the cream and instead of slicing the bread I cut the bread into 2'' squares. It came out looking very pretty, was simple to prepare (baked while opening presents), it's sweet, but other than that it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. I plan to make it again keeping the bread in slices and maybe using more cinnamon and vanilla. I also think maybe it would have been good to bake 20 minutes, flip the bread, cover with topping, and then finish baking. It was hard to rate this since I didn't really use the original recipe. I would suggest making it your own and doing a practice run before serving.
