About this Cook
I have been married to a wonderful man for 13+ years. He works so hard (thanks, honey) that I am fortunate enough to get to be a SAHM and have been for the past past 9+ years. My life centers around family. When I have a little extra time, I love to try out new recipes. I have been told I am a good cook and get many requests for my recipes and also requests to be invited to dinner! Check out my recipe blog @
My favorite family cooking traditions
Love the Thanksgiving dinner preparation. I get to host every third year and look forward to it! We always have the same menu. My favorite thing in the world is a huge slow roated turkey... smelling it cook all day is heaven! Another fond family cooking tradition/memory I have is, as a child my dad was a fisherman and I enjoyed getting to help in the preparation of the beer batter when we'd have a big fish fry.
My cooking triumphs
tacos, spaghetti
My cooking tragedies
2 words... Mustard Chicken!

Banana-Zucchini Bread
I had a zucchini and some bananas needing used TODAY so I came and found this recipe. I always try to make recipes as written the first time so that I know what to tweak to make it better. Aside from making 24 muffins, I basically followed this recipe exactly. My few minors changes were: I used an entire medium zucchini which measured just under 2 cups. I substituted the oil for 1 cup of unsweetened apple sauce and took other reviewers advice and cut the white sugar to 1/2 cup. Oddly, I was a little shy on the cinnamon so I added a generous pinch of nutmeg. These came out fab! My 7 year old gobbled them up! Next time, I think I would add more cranberries and nuts and also combine the dry ingredients together then add to the wet mix as I feel I overworked the flour a bit while measuring and adding the other dry things. Thanks for a yummy and healthy fall recipe!

Jayme's Coleslaw
I was out of white vinegar so I came on AR to find a recipe with Apple Cider Vinegar. This recipe was so close to the way I make it, I thought it'd be perfect. I use white vinegar and white sugar, minus the celery seed. Maybe I'm too used to my family recipe. This was just ok. Way to "wet" for our tastes.

Chicken Angelo
This was a new and easy way to bake chicken. I will probably make it again sometime if I have Muenster slices to use up but would most likely not make a special point to get the ingredients.... it was good but not "wow".
