Pad See Ew (Thai Noodles with Beef and Broccoli)

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
I tried this recipe last night and did not care for it at all. I found 1tbsp of fish sauce to be FAR too much. It was just overwhelming--I couldn't taste anything but the fish sauce. If you're going to add fish sauce, by all means, throw in a teaspoon and work your way up. Once there's too much, it's too late. I am no stranger to fish sauce--I'm Vietnamese and it's in alot of our dishes. Good luck!

Panna Cotta

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
Is panna cotta suppose to be that thick? I've only had panna cotta from a restaurant twice (both times from the same place bc I enjoyed it so much)--and it was much lighter and not nearly as dense. I guess I was expecting the same consistency. I did use the recommended amout of gelatin and I may cut it down next time to get the right consistency. I guess I was expecting a consistency more along the lines of creme brulee. Am I wrong on this? Thanks. Oh--and I made a pomergranate syrup to top the dessert off with--and I think that distracted me from the texture a bit.

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I actually made the mistake of using a 16oz bag of pasta for that amount of sauce--and it was still absolutely delicious! I sprinkled the dish with bread crumbs and the bf and I couldn't have had a more satisfying meal last night! Thanks!

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This is my first time making banana nut bread and I must say that this recipe is fantastic! Very moist and flavorful :) It was a huge hit with my boyfriend's mom! I did however make a few changes, based on the recommendations I found on the site. I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla and did 1c white sugar and 1c brown sugar. Absolutely delicious! A side note, I made a second batch the following day for my coworkers--and this time, they bottoms burned before it was even closed to being cooked. The only thing I did differently, was that I baked two muffin tins at once, instead of one. Could that have affected the results?
