Cincinnati Chili I

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
After living in Cincinnati for 7 years my husband and I really miss Skyline after moving south. We are able to buy canned Skyline at Kroger, but this is a much healthier option. I did make some changes. I did not use the onions. I boiled ground turkey in the broth and then used a hand blender to blend it up until there were no more chunks of meat, this is the consistency of true Cincinnati chili. Then I put all of the ingredients into the crockpot and let it cook all day. I did use powdered cocoa instead of chocolate and increased some of the seasonings. My only complaint was that it was dry and needed more liquid. I'll probably add some water or more broth next time.

Chicken Hobo

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
Very good and easy. I sprayed the aluminum foil with cooking spray to keep the potatoes from sticking. I had no problem with them burning. But, I made sure to flip the packet over so they weren't on the bottom. The only change I would make would be to marinate the chicken ahead of time to give it some more flavor.

Moist Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I wanted a more traditional cinnamon role with white icing/glaze. I used the bread machine for the rolls. They were easy and the rolls turned out soft and gooey. I just used a simple powdered sugar and milk mixture for a thin glazed. I've learned from past experience to take cinnamon rolls out before they start to really brown on top. Otherwise they start to dry out. They are better when still just a little bit gooey still.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was very good. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because only one hour in the marinade was not enough. It didn't have much flavor, but what it did have was goon. Next time I will put it in the marinade several hours before or maybe even over night.
