Carrot and Ginger Soup
I made a double batch of this using home made vegetable stock, and because my family can be picky, I only used 1 piece of ginger for the double batch. I also subbed coconut milk for the cream b/c my boyfriend is allergic to dairy. FANTASTIC. Even better with a little cracked red pepper or cayenne!

Masala Chai Brownies
I made these without the coconut b/c my cousin isn't a big fan of it, but I did use coconut milk to brew the chai. Also, I used organic buckwheat flour instead because my bf is allergic to wheat, dairy, and eggs.Despite cooking them for about 35 minutes, they never became very solid. That said, everyone loved it (though they said next time I should serve it with ice cream! I'm going to try making this with almond flour (instead of all-purpose) and either carob flour or agave for the sugar (I'll nix the chai if I use agave to even out the liquid content) so that *I* can eat it (carb restrictions). I'll let you know how that turns out.

Buddy's and Bubba's Homemade Dog Food
I have my dogs and cats on a homecooked diet from the book "The Whole Pet Diet" by Andi Brown. They are currently grain-free due to health issues, but this looks like a pretty good recipe to try for variety. Yes, supplements should be added. Parsley is great for breath, digestion, and vitamin C. Be sure to vary the meats, grains, and veggies. Fresh is generally better than frozen. Halo has a great line of supplements and you might want to look up balanceIT.com which predetermines the supplements your dog needs.
