Sweet Pepper Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Excellent. I made a few minor changes. I didn't have red pepper on hand so I doubled the amount of green bell peppers. So there would be more color, I added carrots, diced in small pieces. Before I took it off the stove I tasted it and thought it was slightly bland and needed a kick, so I mixed in cayenne (to taste). This was very very good with the addition of cayenne.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Very delicious! I think it needed more marinade because the flavor was not as strong as I like.

Garlic Broccoli

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Excellent!! My bf really enjoyed it even though I screwed up and put twice the amount of sesame seed oil and compensated with using half the amount of soy sauce.

Yummy Lemon Salmon Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
Very delicious and they held up well. Personally, I think they need garlic to make the flavor stronger. I substituted onion powder for the onion because I didn't have it in the house.

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
I Loved this! I used frozen broccoli, used onion powder instead of onion (all I had), bacon bits instead of bacon (again, didn't have the ingredient on hand), used 2% colby and monterey jack mix (all I had), light mayo, and I omitted salt (as I do for most recipes). I will definitely make it again =D

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I'm in love!! I used food coloring to make the confectioner's sugar coating a powder blue. I don't have good luck when making brownies, so I'm glad there's an easy cookie recipe that tastes like a brownie! Best part - if you let it sit in your mouth for 30 or so seconds it tastes even better!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
Very good and easy! I used Italian bread crumbs and upped the garlic. I baked this at 400 instead of 425 because I was making the Roasted Lemon Garlic Broccoli on this site and wanted to do them at the same time. It didn't affect the quality of the meal.

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Excellent! After tasting it, I decided that it needed a little more lemon, but that is a preferential change.

Heavenly Angel Food Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Sooooo delicious. I baked it in two layers...one layer was a 10" springform pan and the other was a 9" springform pan. I used carton egg whites. The recipe worked really well. My bake time was faster bc I didn't use a bundt pan, but it was easy to keep an eye on it. Light, fluffy, and tasty! I topped it with the Supreme Strawberry Topping on this website!

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Perfect! I used frozen strawberries. I chopped them all into quarters or eighths and cooked 2/3 in the sauce pan. I used a whisk to smush those up while warm so I didn't have to use my food processor. The last 1/3 of the strawberries were added in at the end. I let them cook with the faux-pureed syrup for 3 minutes.

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Good, but not my favorites. I'm not sure why mine didn't turn out chewy, but I prefer crispy cookies anyways.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
These were very soft and fluffy. They were a little dry, which is why I'm only giving them 4-stars.

Tasty Baked Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
I don't like meatballs. I really don't like anything with ground beef in general. These were AMAZING! I literally said "Wow" when I tried them even though I was standing alone in the kitchen. I accidentally used condesned mushroom soup instead of regular mushroom soup, so they were moist and had a slightly stronger mushroom flavor without falling apart.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
These were very tasty. They were too sticky to roll and I couldn't get my cookie-cutter shapes to get the dough out. Instead of rolling I had to form balls and press them thin because of my dough issues. For 1/5 of the batch I added cinnamon, which tasted AMAZING! Since I pressed them down with my fingers instead of rolling, they came out poofy. They were still sturdy, but at the same time they were soft.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Very nice and easy to work with. I added another tsp of milk to stretch the icing further, but I liked the consistency of the recipe as is. It dried very quickly, after about an hour, and allowed me to stack the cookies nicely.

Easy Devonshire Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This was very good, like a fancy whipped cream! =D. Oh my gosh!! I just put sugar-free strawberry preserves with it!! AMAZING!! It will probably taste even better with fruit. Right now I'm eating it with whole wheat ritz crackers :)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This is my absolute favorite recipe on AR! You can modify the ingredients (more potato, less celery, etc) and it doesn't affect the taste. I like to put little bits of tomato on top for a pop of color. Perfect as-is or with whatever you have on-hand in the kitchen.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This was good. I left the peel on so I could increase my fiber intake and I could barely notice it. I think more syrup was necessary. I noticed that the water/cornstarch mixture evaporated from teh pan almost immediately so it was hard to stir in the cinnamon and brown sugar.

Eggplant Parmesan II

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
This was very good. I cut the serving size down to 1, so some of my measurements were probably off due to rounding error and estimating. I was an eggplant virgin, so I'm glad that this recipe was here for a good first experience. =D

Waldorf Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
Very very good. I omitted the dates (didn't have any and have never tried them before) and lettuce. Instead of lettuce I used a high-fiber wheat tortilla and made it into a wrap. It was very good in the wrap, but you have to be careful since wheat can be an overpowering flavor. I don't like celery or walnuts, but they enhanced the flavors of the dish and add a nice crunch and pop of flavor. Next time I will use less celery or chop it up smaller so I don't get as much flavor pop. Very good salad/wrap. Tomorrow I'm going to put the leftovers on wheat ritz crackers. :)
