About this Cook
I am a huge foodie that sometimes also likes to cook. Depends on my mood that day. My "better half" is a professional Chef.
My favorite things to cook
Dessert, for sure. I also love to do roasts, stews, and soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love island cuisine. Basically a mixture of several cultures in one dish. My family cooks this way all the time.
My cooking triumphs
Every meal I put on the table for my family can also be a triumph because it amazes me that I can even get a meal done sometimes.
My cooking tragedies
Okay - I tend to want to cook things quickly.....so I burn things every so often. Patience is not a virtue where I am concerned. Probably not the best trait for a cook, but it's also because I run my own business and have 4 children to care for at home. Albeit, if it were just me, who would I cook for?

Aunt Gail's Oatmeal Lace Cookies
These were not really lace cookies. I wanted to try it, but will stick with my old recipe. They were okay but will not bother to make again. Really crumbly and fell apart easily. Not too carmalized like I would have liked it.

Strawberry Spinach Salad II
This recipe is fantastic just on it's own as is. I have made it several times and did add slivered almonds once and walnuts once to add some texture. It was beautiful both ways. Thanks for sharing!
