Lentils and Rice with TVP

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This recipe is perfect for a chilly fall night. I would advise "eyeballing" the water amount to your liking. I used brown rice and doubled the recipe size. The curry and cumin were a nice touch. We made it just a tad soupy and served buttermilk cornbread on the side. Very healthy alternative recipe. Thanks for sharing!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2010
I used 1 pack of cream cheese and it was more than enough. I'd suggest using 6 oz or just add heavy cream. I poked holes every 2 inches going around the squash and stuck in microwave for 2 min. Easier to cut that way, but that was the hardest part. This soup was very creamy, rich and tasted like a very good restaurant's version. Husband loves it, but I'm giving it 4 stars because of too much cream cheese. Also used extra dashes of cayenne and nutmeg.

World's Best Lasagna

Yumm!! Very good recipe. I would highly recommend using a Dutch oven! I made 2 batches and the Dutch oven batch truly made a difference of melding these flavors together.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This is Excellent! It's my first time making this and I used 4 c of zucchini. I only used 1 c sugar, 1/2 white, 1/2 l brown and it was still sweet. I also used 1/2 c oil and 1/2 c applesauce. I also made this in the Sunbeam breadmaker for about 2 hrs. Delish!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I made this twice already- and loved it! My husband and his grandparents request this all the time! I just use a big can of kidney beans and if I don't have Tomato Juice on hand I'll use tomato paste with some water. I like to add some salsa to this to get the green pepper and onion chunks. Not too spicy but definitely has a nice kick.
