Nana's Southern Pickled Peaches

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2014
I've never had a pickled peach or made any, until I seen this recipe! It's a whole new taste for peaches! My granddaughter told me, it was Christmas in a jar! I did do one thing wrong from the recipe...I didn't have any cheesecloth so I just put the spices in the pot and then into the jars with the fruit. This made very, very spicy peaches. They are still very good, but I would not advise doing this. My daughter just loved them, something new and different for the table!

Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2014
I can not tell you how many times I have made this recipe. It has become a family tradition and so many people have asked me for the recipe. It's great on it's own, but it's nice with a little celery salt and maybe an apple chopped into the slaw. I've also cheated and used store bought bagged slaw mix, but it isn't as good and fresh as doing it yourself. In a pinch it's whatever works:) If you are a coleslaw lover, you won't be disappointed!

Lemon Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
Excellent! Great way to get rid of those extra's lemons and it doesn't take that long to do it! I made it with both sugar and splenda and both taste very good. We did find the splenda batch separates in the jar when sitting, but once it was shaken everything blended nicely. It's nice on anything, cakes, ice cream...the list is endless! Thanks for the recipe!

Lemon Pudding Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2014
Excellent! The cake was nice and moist, the pudding was sweet and tart, the way it should be. I'm sure if you are using sweet lemons, it might be sweet, but the recipe turned out great, just the way it was written! I did take a couple of the reviews to heart, and covered the pudding with foil, after 30 minutes of cooking time. The top was golden brown. Trust me, this pudding tastes even better the next day cold!

Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2014
After making buns by hand, this bread machine recipe is a life saver! The texture is soft with a sweet hint in the dough. I normally have to let the buns rise in the oven with light on for about an hour to give the second rise time. I have to say, after making them many, many times, they've never turned out poorly. Excellent recipe, thank you!

A Good Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
Very easy, I made it with diet coke and it worked wonderfully with our pulled pork. So tasty, and only uses what most people have in the fridge. No need for other spices, sometimes more is less!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2014
This was such an easy cake to make! The texture was wonderful, almost that European taste! I made toothpick holes on the top of the cake and then put a simple glaze of 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of lemon juice which I boiled, then poured over the top of the cake. It was a huge hit at the party some people asking for thirds! This is a keeper for sure!!!

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2013
Quick and easy, with an excellent taste and texture. I did put the cornstarch in the pot with the cold milk. I would make this again and again, beats the boxed stuff and doesn't have a chemical taste!

Mango Chutney

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2013
This is a very big recipe! I ended up using my roasting pan on 2 stove elements. The taste is excellent. We use it on grilled hamburgers among everything else. I can't say enough good about this recipe, except we never gave 1 jar away...lol!

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: May 25, 2013
These were so good! Just like lemon pie on a short bread crust...wonderful, made a large pan so there was lots to share. Everyone loved them, and they looked so pretty, and cut cleanly! I tried another recipe and it did not compare to this one! This is the keeper!

Excellent! Very refreshing, I also tried it with sour cream instead of mayo. It also worked very nicely.

Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
This is a wonderful pumpkin bread...so moist and tasty. I make the recipe, omit the sugar until the end, then divide the mixture in half. Half gets splenda for my diabetic husband, the other half gets sugar. It works out wonderfully for both of us. We each get a loaf.

Applesauce Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
I think this is about as good as it gets!!! It is sweet as the brown sugar indicates but it is delishious! I always use a southwest dry rub first, while my meat cooks and this barbeque sauce completes it. Thanks so much for the wonderful recipe!

Sweet Zucchini Relish

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
I had to change my review! After it sat for a while, it turned into one of my favorites! It is so easy to make, and I'm adding hot peppers to the next batch. I'd suggest anyone wanting to make relish...try this one! Only thing I would comment on, is to chop the zucchini instead of shredding it. The texture seems better when chopped. Have fun with making this recipe!

Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2012
I made this exactly like recipe said. It was dry, completely hard on the bottom, a complete failure! If I was to make it again, I would put the dish in a pan of water and cook it for less time than directed. It really wasn`t worth the effort!

Sweet Vidalia Onion Relish

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2012
This is a wonderful sweet relish! A very nice change from the traditional green. I did not roast my peppers and just added them fresh. Since there is so much sugar, I really think it will last as long as green, in the fridge. I made this recipe for Christmas gifts and everyone raved about this relish and asked for for the recipe. It definately outshone the sweet green! I am making it again this summer, too many requests for it! Here is a hint...chew gum when working with the onions, helps with the tears!

This was the best banana bread I have made, and I`ve tried so many recipes. I followed the recipe exactly as given. It was so moist and the texture couldn`t have been any nicer! The banana taste really came through on this recipe. I can`t say enough about how good it was! Thanks for the recipe.
