Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
Baked them at 12 minutes. Next time I will try to take them out of the oven at 10 minutes even though they didn't look done. I might add some salt too! Nonetheless, they were delish!

We used this recipe to turn the Simple Garlic Pesto into a Creamy Pesto. It had rave reviews from the 3 pesto lovers in my house. Will make it again.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
My family compared this to restaurant quality french onion soup. I carmelized the onions and used a dry red wine instead of sherry. I will make this again!

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
As suggested I used a mixture of Ghiradelli bittersweet chips & Hershey's milk chocolate chips. I baked for 12 minutes as suggested, but next time will probably only bake for 10-11 minutes. I dusted it lightly with powered sugar, and served them with a scoop of homemade peppermint icecream, and garnished with blackberries and chocolate covered expresso beans. My family members raved! I will definitely be making these again.

Original Chex® Party Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
Great recipe. Makes a large amount. Great snack to have around when watching football! I prefer the oven-roasted recipe. Oven directions: Heat oven to 250°F. In large bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In ungreased large roasting pan, melt butter in oven. Stir in seasonings. Gradually stir in cereal mixture until evenly coated. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

Chocolate Chex® Caramel Crunch

Sounded good...tasted even better. We did omit the vanilla baking chip drizzle, but added M&Ms and cashews. This makes a great tailgate snack!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
This was fantastic! Unlike many other vinegarettes that I have tried, this one seemed to have the perfect balance between sweet and tangy. I add crumbled pieceds of brie to my salad for a special touch that guests loved.

Crabby Cream Cheese Wontons

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
My husband and I thought that there was too much soy, sesame, onion, and worcestershire sauce. It was a little over-powering for us. We ended up adding 4 blocks of cream cheese to try and dilute the mixture. They were still horrible. I will not make these again!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Absolutely delicious! I had to alter the recipe a bit due to the unavailability of fruit in the winter season in Nebraska. I used 1 bag of frozen berry blend (strawberries, cherries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries), 2 braeburn apples, 1 bartlett pear, apricot preservers, and the rest the same as the recipe. I was surprised at the large amount that it made. I saved half and used it with yogurt, ice, and fruit juice in smoothies. It was fabulous both ways. I will make this again!

Jeanne's Chocolate Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Absolutely fantastic! I used dark chocolate kisses and they were a chocolate lover's dream. I will make these again and share the recipe with friends. I wasn't quite sure if the butter needed to be at room temperature since it didn't specify. I left my butter out on top of the ceramic stove-top while my oven preheated (about 10 minutes). When combined with the sugar it never really got "fluffy". The cookies were best the first day. They did not stay soft after day one. Nonetheless the cookies turned out great.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
We made this dish for our Super Bowl get together. It was a hit! We served it along with pepperjack/cheddar quesadillas, cornbread, and chips and salsa. Great menu! The only modifications that I made were to substitute 2 tsp. of cumin instead of oregano, ommitted the corn and hominy (my husband is not a fan), and doubled the amount of chicken broth. We will make again.
