Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
I really enjoyed this recipe. However, after making it the first time according to directions, I doctored it a bit to suit our tastes. I doubled the garlic, subbed lime juice for lemon, doubled the lime juice and added it to the marinade, doubled/tripled the hot sauce (we like spicy!), added cumin and onion powder (about 1/2 tsp each) and a splash of liquid smoke. It was yummy to begin with - and then, perfect for my boyfriend and me!

French Onion Soup Gratinee

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
Excellent! Even tasted delicious when made with vegetable broth and no-chicken stock (I was worried). Used dried herbs because that is what I had on hand and made my own worcestershire sauce because I was out: equal parts soy sauce and white vinegar with a dash of hot sauce). At the end, I sliced french bread and broiled both sides until lightly browned and then topped with shredded Swiss cheese and fresh parmesan and broiled again until cheese was bubbly. Placed toasted bread over bowls of amazing soup! Fanstastic recipe - Thank you!!

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Super easy and really tasty! I used regular flour, added fresh garlic (in addition to the garlic powder), used vegetable broth instead of plain water, and doubled all the spices. Additionally, I added about a third of a small can of jalapenos and about an ounce of chocolate (slightly mole style!) This turned out great - with lots of flavor and just the right amount of heat. Thanks!

Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
Outstanding recipe! After reading various other suggestions, I made a few modest changes. I used frozen corn, added the juice from the clams, further thinned the chowder with additional milk, used more garlic (4 small cloves), traded the parsley with Old Bay, and added a couple extra dashes of cayenne (I like spicy!). Furthermore, I made this recipe on the spur of the moment - so, I only had on hand uncooked frozen shrimp, canned clams and canned crab meat. I was very concerned that the canned seafood would diminish the flavor of the chowder - no need to worry - it was delicious! And even my foodie friends were impressed....they said it beat any restaurant seafood chowder they had eaten! Thanks for the great recipe!

Strawberry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
Something new, healthy and yummy! This recipe has plenty of room for preferences (fresh/frozen strawberries, peaches, blueberries, etc. !!!) I used an organic instant oatmeat packet which was perfect because it only contains natural ingrediants and was exactly a half cup - maple and brown sugar or cinnamon and spice are perfect because they add plenty of flavor and there is no need to add extra sugar or vanilla. The end result was delicious, filling and gave me ample amounts of energy! A great recipe - thank you!
