I made this for the first time a couple of years ago looking for something different for my vegetarian lifestyle. My family requests this recipe often and love them (even without meat)! I have made several variations, but we prefer to use pinto beans seasoned with garlic, onions, chili powder, and cumin. I add cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger to the mashed sweet potatoes. The sweetness compliments the heat and garlic flavor in the beans. Mmmmmmm! Thank you for sharing!
