Elegant Orzo with Wilted Spinach and Pine Nuts

This was a huge disappointment. I was really looking forward to making this because of all the great reviews. Way way way to bland for me. It also made a HUGE portion. The flavors just did not mix well at all and like I said very bland.

Chocolate Pound Cake III

This cake was so wonderful. I did substitute sour cream for the buttermilk. It came out super moist this way. Also I did not have instant coffee so I used 1/4 of extra strong coffee that i had sitting in my pot from the day before. Make sure that you beat the butter and eggs until the color turns a pale yellow.(light and fluffy) I also put a glaze on it. 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 8 baking squares of sweetened chocolate and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Melt the chocolate squares in the microwave, then add condensed milk and vanilla. Also it make be thick so just add cream or milk 1 tablesppon at a time until you like the consistency. Then pour over cooled cake...This is going to be a recipe I will make over and over! 5 stars anyday! Many compliments

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

This is a great cookie recipe, 5 stars. The only thing I did differently was I used 1/2 butter and 1/2 butter flavored shortening (Crisco). I do that a lot with my cookie recipes. It makes a BIG difference I think,the texture is out of this world. It just melts in your mouth. Also my cookies only needed about 8 minutes. But this is by far the best peanut butter cookie recipe yet!!!

Sweet Russian Cabbage Soup

I LOVE THIS RECIPE!!!! The changes I make to it are I brown the hamburg meat before adding, Add 1-2 more cloves of garlic, you can't taste the garlic trust me. I also use apple cider vinegar, which I think gives it a better taste. I use a little more vinegar than called for, I just keep adding tablespoons until I like the taste, usually about 4 tblsp. I use chicken bouillon instead of beef. Also with the cabbage I just chop it up into small pieces, this makes a big difference. Especially if you have young children like me, it is way easier to eat this way. My family just goes crazy over this recipe. My husband will sometimes add cayenne to his bowl of soup for some kick. Pair it will some crusty bread and you will just be in heaven!

Spanish Rice Original

This dish is FABULOUS!!!! My only adjustment was I used red bell pepper instead of green because I don't like green. I also leave out the olives. Other than that the recipe is great just the way it is. To make it a complete meal I add in some hot sausage that I cook up in another pan and add it in at the end. I have made this rice several times and my husband and family just love it.
