Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Delicious! And way too easy. I use sesame seeds instead of sunflower seeds. I just made it for a potluck last night and it was all gone and I got all kinds of compliments on it. I just added one bag of pre-cut lettuce, thinly sliced celery, added sesame oil to the dressing, and used the Oriental flavor ramen.

Perfect! Not too sweet. I forgot to add the vanilla extract but it still turned out delicious.

Vinegar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
These cookies are better than sugar cookies--nice and buttery with a perfect blend of soft in the middle and crunchy on the ends. This recipe is especially handy when you're out of eggs but have that sugar cookie craving.

Easy Pineapple Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This cake is DELICIOUS! I made it for my baby's 1st birthday and my husband and my other kids LOVED it. I added a dollop of veg oil and only used 1 3/4c of sugar as suggested. It tastes good with or without the sweetened coconut I added.

I drink this without the vodka. The amaretto is SOOO YUMMY!! I like putting whipped cream on top, too.

Camp Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
DELICIOUS!! I'd recommend using a smaller pan. The cornbread came out a little too flat in a 9x13 pan.

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
a little too peanut buttery for me. i think next time i'd add some flour and lessen the pb. i put a hershey on top of mine which made it a little less peanut buttery but i think i'll try one with a little more flour.

Filipino Oxtail Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This is basically how I make mine. It's one of my favorite filipino dishes. And it can be served with a dollop of shrimp paste. For coloring, you can add achuete to the sauce.

Incredible Chicken

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I, too, did not use the measurements. I cooked the chicken skin-down for the first 30 minutes and then flipped it over and basted it with its own juices. It was very flavorful and a simple way to bake chicken.

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: May 16, 2009
So easy, even I can do it. I see why it's best to let the batter sit. The batter forms more evenly in the pan.

Pudding-Topped Fruit Salad

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I couldn't wait 3 hours for the pudding to cool but it still tasted great and the texture was still thick enough. It definitely makes ANY fruit combination DELICIOUS!!

Shrimp Etoufee III

Reviewed: May 31, 2009
I didn't make this to the proportion given in the recipe because I didn't have enough shrimp but it still tasted AMAZING! I added frozen okra because I love vegetables and since I was serving it on rice, I used the water from cleaning the rice instead of plain water. I also took another reviewer's advice and used chicken broth.

Wow! If I could give this 10 stars, I would. I didn't have cloves but it still tasted great. All my co-workers rave about it. They can't believe it's so easy. Sometimes, I added chopped pecans and topped it with brown sugar and oats.

If you don't have taco seasoning, just sprinkle some paprika, chili powder, and ground cumin on it. Delicious!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
This recipe is PERFECT! It's airy, not dense. The more I let the entire batter sit, the more fluffy it is. So I just mix all the ingredients together and let it sit while I heat up the pan. They're much fluffier this way. I especially like to add a 1tbsp of sugar, a diced apple, a dash of cinnamon, and a tiny dash of nutmeg. SUPERB!!!
