I'm a mom, and a teacher. I love to cook, but we have a lot of allergies, so I'm always finding new ways to make substitutes.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, appetizers, any chicken dishes, meat pies, fish (I do live in New England after all!), desserts (I love to bake!).
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a few things that we make every holiday, like Easter is always Polish cuisine, and Xmas we always make date squares, fudge, and peanut-butter balls.
My cooking triumphs
I reluctantly gave up my grandmother's recipe for roasted chicken to try my dad's...and it was better! I'm so glad I gave in and just did it :) Also, for my daughter's 4th birthday I make an amazing cake shaped like an alligator. That was the first time I decorated a cake.
My cooking tragedies
One time I made a HUGE pot of red clam chowder..and I added way too many red pepper was so spicy it made me choke. I had to throw the whole pot away. It was a nightmare..I cried. Also, I recently tried to make Tres Leche cake..It came out so bad, it actually made me sick. I threw up all night.

Easy Pavlova
I found this to be waaaay too sweet. The sugar needs to be cut in half at least. Also, I didn't use corn starch. I used 1/2 tsp cream of tartar because that's what I'm used to using for a meringue. I just couldn't get past the cloying sweetness however.

Swiss Steak Quick and Easy
Very delicious. Similar to beef stew. The meat comes out very tender, and it is easy enough for my husband to make! I didn't bother to brown the meat because I was throwing it together in a crockpot at 7:30am. It was still amazing anyway.
