I have 5 children who I want to give old-fashioned experiences and memories to. My three younger ones are very picky eaters. They will eat something one day then not touch it again! I started teaching myself to cook at 16 and have mastered some dishes, however there was a looong period where all I would cook were the dishes that everyone would eat (boring!). So to start the new year off right, I am going back to cooking new things and lerning new tastes/recipes! My younger kids havn't liked the idea so far, but they will...eventually, lol. I also own my own business and stay pretty busy trying to manage being a devoted mom, a growing business, and of course housework. I like recipes that are similiar to the ones our moms and grandmas used to make, but maybe just a tad healthier. I love my crockpot, it has been very helpful providing for my family while I'm away at work, lol. I'm hoping to be one of those people who can make a yummy meal out of anything!
My favorite things to cook
Bruschetta, Spaghetti, Chili, Cheesey Potatoes, and anything else. Cooking sets my mind at ease.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year the women in my famiy would get together to make Christmas candy and Italian cookies. I was usually the only kid in the kitchen instead of playing outside. When my girls got old enough to help I started that tradition again. We give it out to our friends as Christmas gifts. Its fun to do and they love it too!
My cooking triumphs
Any meal that my kids will eat!
My cooking tragedies
I used to burn...everything!
