Cucumber Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2011
BLAHHHH! For those of you ladies who said you made this hummus for your first hummus are really missing out on a good hummus. I made it exactly as stated and it was flavorless. I added some cumin which is in regular hummus and more olive oil and it helped a bit but will not make this again. If you want a good hummus a can of garbanzos, 1/3 cup tahini, juice from a one lemon. Tbsp cumin salt, and pepper and add olive oil while its all blending and use lots of garlic. Then top with paprika cant go wrong.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I really love this soup. It was a hit with my friends and family. I did make a couple of changes. I used Yukon gold potatoes and didn't precook the potatoes. I added them with the chicken broth and cooked them until tender. I also added some bacon, scallions, and cheese right afer i added the half-n-half. YUMMY!

Udon Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Yummy! I really dont like peanut butter but enjoyed this did make a few changes because didnt have all ingredients. With the sauce I used 2 veggie bullion with 1/2 cup water and sweet red chili sauce instead of the listed ingredients. and instead of chicken I used mushrooms and slightly sauteed them and the red bell .pepper. It wasa little to salty for my taste but that could be due tot he veg boullion. Verynice surprise!!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2010
I thought this was pretty good. I did have to make some changes only because I didnt have the items but I think it would be great with them. I didnt have either the green chilis or the jalapenos so i simply added some ancho chili powder. I didnt add but a dash of cayenne. Didnt want it hot so the kids would eat it. I added a half cup fresh chopped cilantro and I didnt add cheese. My 6 year old and husband both really enjoyed this. I madecorn bread to go with it. Will make again.

Classic Egg Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
I always have wanted a really good egg salad sandwich. I used seven eggs instead of six and I followed another reviews advice and add 1tsp mustard and 1 tsp. dijon mustard. I also use red onion and it's superb. I have eaten it a few times and it is super great on slightly toasted bread.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2010
My whole family loved this. I did have to make a couple changes....I used quick cooking brown rice because I was out of white and I used cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken. I was out of that too. Id di add a touch more salsa. But otherwise followed the rest f the directions. My 2 year old and 5 year old devoured it. I usually dont like left pvers but I have eaten it a couples time now and finished the rest for breakfast today!!

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
FUNNY story. So Ive made this twice and we've really liked it. The only thing is I kept wondering why it was so spicey. Well....I accidentally used all the garlic for the dressing (both times) until I finally nocticed. It was great even though I did that...just spicey.

This was delicious and easy. I only made a couple minor changes. I didnt have cream so I used a half evaporated milk and half milk. Also I used canned tomatoes and used 2 cans. Surprisingly my 5 year old loved this and she HATES tomaotes. Ive tried since to get her eat other tomato soups and she wont have it. So we're making it tonight. I have half n half so Ill try that and we just picked 12 lbs of toms from the orchard so I'll try fresh ones this time. Im sure it will be great.

Cinnamon Carrot Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
Me and my famil loved this. I did make a few changes based on others suggestions. I add more cinnamon and touch of ginger. I also added yellow raisins. Otherwise I followed everything. I had trouble with the cook time. It got really crisp on the outside when the inside wasnt finished yet. I think i overcooked it a bit but it was still yummy with a little butter on each slice:)

Oatmeal Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
These are wonderful!!!!!! I have made them a few times and everyone has loved them. I thought the icing to be too rich...at first but I refrigerated some of the pies and froze others. I think after setting the flavors balanced. I threw a btch togetehr for mothers day and My sister in law who is always watching her weight and never keeps sweets in the house actually took a few home. SO I suggested whip them up, wrap them in palstic wrap and refrigerate or freeze! Pull them out when you need a fix they are great!!!!!!!

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
This was easy and excellent. I used vut up thighs and legs. I will say it cooked faster than I thought. I ddi add garlic like someone else suggested. My 5 year old and 2 year old couldn't get enough. Some people thought it was too salty. I didn't since I used skin-on meat. I think the skin absorbed the excess salt from the soy sauce because I thought it to be just right. I could see it being too salty if there was no skin to balance (the skins adds flavor to the cooking but we dodn't eat it). We'll definitely add this to out menu again. I love finding crockpot recipes that don't include pork or read meat. Thanks!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
I thought these were wonderful!!! I normally hate brussel sprouts. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they were too salty. I will add much less salt next time. I did do what another reviewer did and halved then and cut out the bitter parts. What I really loved when they roasted on the baking sheet small leaves feel off and they were so crunchy and yummy. reminded me of flashed fried spinach. My husband brought he leftovers to lunch and he had people raving abot them also and asking for the recipe. SO whoever posted this thanks and I can't believe I'll mbe adding brussle sprouts to the menu more often.

Chicken Souvlaki Gyro Style

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
I loved this! Everything was pretty easy. I did grill some yellow squash and zucchini and added that to my gyro. I also served it with steak fries. The greek restaurant that my hubby and I went to when first married had steak fries with the tzatziki. I did omit the vinager in the tzatziki and added no pepprecinis to my gryo. I will make these again..SOON!
