Great recipe. Instead of nuts, I added raisins. I am always looking for sweets for my husband to satisfy a sweet tooth without putting him in diabetic shock. To make the cake more diabetic friendly, cut back real sugar by half and add 1 cup artificial sweetener (splenda). I haven't found any way to reduce the confectioners sugar in frosting and keep the right flavor... but with this cake, you don't need a thick layer of icing. It's moist and has a great flavor without drowning it with icing. About a 1/4 inch is plenty to compliment with that rich cream cheese flavor.
