I've had this recipe saved for years to make, but either never had the ingredients, time, occasion or excuse to eat such a rich and delicious breakfast. I finally made them last night and baked them this morning, and wow! They were worth the 3 year wait.
I use my kitchenaide stand mixer to prepare the dough. I made the bowl warm, warmed the milk and mixed in the yeast. (Make sure to check the expiry on your yeast if you don't bake often). Once dissolved (Aprox 10 minutes) I mixed in the other ingredients using e dough hook. I let it rise in the oven (preheated to 200 than turned off, covered with a damp tea towel). Then I rolled out the dough and added the cinnamon mixture. I rolled from the short end of the rectangle. I didn't have a tape measure so just guessed the size. i cut the dough roll with a sharp knife in half, then each half in half again and then each quarter into 3. I put them in a glass baking dish and into the fridge over night. For the cream cheese frosting I took just less than half of a brick of cream cheese (our cream cheese is sold in 250 gram bars- which is equivalent to 8 oz). Mixed everything together and put int he fridge over night as well. In the morning I baked for 25 minutes in a 350 degree convection oven for 25 minutes. Once out of the oven I spread the soften icing (took it out of the fridge earlier) over them which melted a little more. Mouth watering amazing! And really not that hard to make! The house also smells amazing for our morning guest
