Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
Mmm, eating leftovers now for lunch and it tastes even better....I followed the recipe as written except I doubled the spices per the reviews and served over egg noodles. Even my kids gobbled it up!! I picked this recipe because of the pure simplicity of it, no browning, no extra pans to clean and I had most of the ingredients already. As much as I love reading the reviews, I don't get how reviewers can give this 5 stars when they are practically changing the recipe-browning, adding wine, beer, buying a packet of beef stew mix??? I thought this was Beef Stew by Buchko not by Corrine and it's a great simple stew recipe without all those additional ingredients/steps...Thanks Buchko, this will be a new staple at our house!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
I guess I'm in the minority here; I didn't think these were the best CCC although my family thought so. I think there is too much flour: 3 c vs. the standard 2 1/4 c from toll house. I used my trusty Kitchen Aid mixer, so i know it was mixed well. On a positive note thanks to this forum I learned a new trick of using 1/2 tsp of cream of tarter to make them look commercial-"cracked" tops vs. smooth. They looked really pretty!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon
Awesome dish that really takes 25 minutes max to complete, great for a hectic weekday meal. Just throw a crusty loaf of bread in the oven and you're set. I didn't change a thing and my entire family loved it, even my picky 6 & 9 year olds. Not sure why people are using a whole pound of bacon, 6 slices is perfect and more would make the bacon grease overwhelming. Also save the trouble of washing a bowl and just dump the pasta/spinach in the pan with the bacon/tomato mixture. I may use pancetta instead of bacon next time add parm. cheese, but honestly this recipe is good as is.
