Shrimp Quesadillas

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
these were fantastic! The only thing I added was a little minced garlic to the pepper/onion mixture.Other than that, I followed the recipe. I sprayed the tortillas with a little cooking spray before I put them in the skillet, and they were perfect! Even the kids liked them. This will go into our dinner rotation. Thanks so much for sharing this delicious recipe!!

Harvest Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2012
This was delicious. I used organic spring mix and olive oil in place of the walnut oil. Some others had said that the dressing was too sweet. I found that to be opposite. I had a hard time getting the jam to blend with the oil & vinegar and to add that little bit of sweetness, I used 1 and 1/2 packets of splenda. Next time I'll try to use a hand held blender to get it to mix better. Either way, this is a fabulous recipe.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2012
I've made this several times now and it is a great recipe. The marinade is delicious. The only change I've made is reducing the oil to 1/4 C and omitting the sugar. I let them marinade all day then skewer them with some veggies and grill them. Tasty and easy. I also use chicken tenderloins. I just use my kitchen shears to cut them into chunks, and they are a snap to skewer. Great recipe!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
This was good. I reduced the oil to 1/4 cup and shredded a whole rotisserie chicken. It tasted better the longer it sat.

S'mores Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
They were good & satisfied my sweet tooth. To me they didn't seem like a "s'more", but they were good & my kids liked them.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
These were awesome! Very quick to make, and they are really good. I like that there are wholesome ingredients and feel good giving them to my kids (who devoured them). I followed the recipe exactly and they are worth all 5 stars!

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
This was great, but only after letting it sit. I would recommend letting it sit overnight before you want to serve it. The flavors meld really well. I was surprised that with so few ingredients, this was so good. I used mine as a dip with veggies, awesome!

Vanilla Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2010
Was very good, a little too sweet, but paired well with my apple caramel cake. I followed others suggestions by increasing the milk to T. instead of tsp. I would make again.

Monterey Ranch Bread

Good, but very rich. Great idea, but I may try it with a different type of dressing next time.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
this was really good....even better the 2nd night. The only changes I made were adding a bag of frozen broccoli and adding a little onion, garlic, and salt free all-purpose seasoning to the mixture before I added it to the casserole dish. I bet this would be good too if you substitute the chicken with fresh tuna steak. I'll try that next. Thanks for sharing Dawne. This is a keeper! This is now my second review for this recipe. It is a dish I make every couple of weeks. It is so versatile that you can add any frozen veggie or chicken or fish. On it's own it needs seasoning, but it's easy to add whatever flavor you desire. Also, you can use all reduced fat/f.f. soups & sour cream and you still get a good, creamy dish. Love it!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
this carrot cake was delicious, but I am rating it based on using the suggestions of other reviewers and not the actual directions I used 3/4 cup of oil, and 1/2 cup of applesauce. I threw in a handful of raisins and about 1/4 pecans ( all I had). It was very moist and had great flavor. I made the frosting as directed, except I omitted the nuts ( I ran out) The flavor of the icing was perfect for my taste.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
this was very good though next time I will omit additional salt (my mistake) it was salty enough with the worcestershire sauce & soup. I did flour & brown the meat and it did thicken the sauce. I used a dallop of sour cream a few minutes before I served it. My kids went nuts, they loved it! They normally like Hamburger Helper and this was 100x more delicious (and probably way better for them too!) Great recipe, thanks!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
FANTASTIC! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using pumpkin pie spice in place of the nutmeg & cloves. The icing was perfect for the flavor of the cookie. This recipe is a keeper!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
The absolute best pot roast recipe I have ever tasted. I used a 5lb bottom round roast. I lightly floured it and browned it in a little olive oil. I used the 2 cans of soup, the onion soup and 1 1/4 C of water with a packet of beef bouillon mixed in. I cooked it on low for 8.5 hours and it was cooked perfectly. I couldn't get over how flavorful it was with only a few ingredients. This will be made again and again and again.....Thanks Brenda!

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms II

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
These mushrooms were very good, but very rich and filling! I doubled the recipe but I found that the doubled filling would have stuffed about 3 packages of 8oz white mushrooms. The only thing I added was a little bit of chopped onion & the some of the mushroom stems, sauteed with the sausage. I will make these again, thanks for sharing. Great recipe!

Shrimp and Feta Cheese Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
this was very good. lots of good flavor. I did have to use 1 can of diced tomatoes ( 1 tomato I had on hand was bad)and I added a chopped tomato that I had cooked in a little olive oil to that along with some dried basil & oregano. I used fresh linguine pasta. Will certainly make again.

Crumb-Coated Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was a very tasty chicken coating. I did not have regular bread crumbs, so I used Panko instead. I took other reviewers suggestions and used 1/3 C. of bread crumbs and added the seasoning as directed. I did not turn them over ( I wasn't paying attention) and they were still delicious & moist. I served it with mashed potatoes and a salad. I will make this again. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Cream Filled Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2009
After reading all the other reviews, I thought this would be tasty and easy to make. The cake batter recipe was ok, but very dense. I think that was the problem when it came to filling them. The filling just sat in the little hole I carved out. I think next time I will try just a boxed mix, and fill them from the top as other people had suggested. The filling was wonderful. It was very creamy and sweet. I did not get far enough to ice them, I was too frustrated that they were not working out well.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
This soup was delicious and very quick to make. The only thing I did different was subsititue 1 C. chicken broth for the water and that was only because I did not have enough bouillon on hand. It was very good!
