Oil Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Worked perfectly, rolled easy, and tasted great. Thanks for the tip on rolling the dough between 2 pieces of plastic wrap. I did sprinkle the crust with cinnamon and sugar before filling it with apple pie filling for a little extra flavor. This is definitely my new favorite pie crust recipe!

Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Oh...my...goodness!!! This is an incredible recipe, and I am now a very popular person at my husband's office! Super moist, very tasty, and easy to make. Definitely worth the extra cooking time and freezing time. I did make a few modifications based on some of the tips from the other readers. Used regular milk and added 1.25 tsp vinegar in lieu of buttermilk, an extra teaspoon of vanilla, used 4 bananas, and baked it in a bundt pan AND a loaf pan. Cooking time took about 1hr 20 min, even though I did raise the temp to 300 degrees F after 55 minutes at 285 F (since I had 2 pans in the oven). Froze 45 minutes as directed. A fabulous recipe that will definitely be part of my baking repertoire. Thank you!!!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe! Fantastic and very flavorful. I made it as directed- for those who pour the caramel sauce over the crust, you might want to do yourselves a favor and place a pan under the pie in the next rack below it, or be sure to line the bottom of your oven- this is a very "juicy" pie! I will definitely make this again, and will probably try to mix the caramel sauce with the apples before placing in the bottom crust, and then brush some sauce over the top crust. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe!!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Fantastic! Just made the following mods: added garlic powder/garlic salt to chicken; added zucchini, peas, and fresh mushroom to noodles, which I boiled in the chicken broth; cut butter in half and mixed with Italian bread crumbs since that was all I had. Served it with Italian bread. The meal turned out really yummy and I can't wait to have the leftovers!

Hot Peanut Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
Excellent base sauce! Just a few mods- added hot garlic sauce because that's all I had, and a teaspoon of rice vinegar. I also skipped the lemon juice (by accident), but will try it next time. Overall, this was just the sauce I was looking for- great with tofu and veggies. Thanks!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
YUMMY!!! Followed most of the recipe, just added a few pinches of Pumpkin Pie Spice from Trader Joe's and used only 1 cup of chocolate chips. Used a small cookie scoop, and 2 of the 3 dozen I made today are gone in less than 8 hours- even the crunchy ones that were accidentally overbaked!! I'll definitely be making these again.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
Oh my- this was AMAZING! Made this for Christmas Eve and it was a hit! I followed the recipe, only I used mixed berry preserves (melted in the microwave) and didn't remove the seeds. I followed the advice of others and covered the bottom of the pan in foil and baked it in a water bath until it stopped "jiggling", then let it cool in the oven for an hour. Absolutely no cracks! I made this again for New Year's Eve, but used a pre-made Oreo crust, and it was just as yummy. You can cut the recipe in half and the amount is perfect for a pre-made crust.

Fantastic! I had problems with the chocolate, and they didn't look too pretty, but they disappeared super fast!

Swirled Pumpkin and Cream Cheese Cheesecake

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2012
Made this tonight for a Halloween party and it was a hit! LOVED it... I didn't have gingersnaps so I used graham crackers instead and it turned out great. I also used a few teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice (Trader Joe's) in lieu of the other spices. I will definitely be making this again!
