Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I am giving this 5 stars only for the cooking method; I did not try the BBQ sauce yet. I will try it next time and update my review. I will always continue to cook ribs this way from now on. I've finished them off on the grill and in the oven at 450. Both ways work great. When I did them in the oven, I saved the water mixture and used it for soup. I refrigerated the broth overnight and removed the fat the next day. It made GREAT soup.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
I'm giving this recipe a 5 because my husband loves them. I also thought they were great, but I prefer a crispy cookie, while these were soft and chewy. I wasn't sure about the cloves, so I split the batter in 2 and did cloves in one half and nutmeg in the other and they were both really good. The clove flavor was so subtle, you could barely detect it. I will make these again and won't be afraid to include the cloves next time.

Sweet Lime Iced Tea

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Excellent. I am making it today for the third time in a row. I can't keep it in the house. I've made it exactly as the recipe indicates and I've also made it with only a cup of sugar and then added splenda, just to cut the calories a bit. Either way, it's the most refreshing summer drink.

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
This was outstanding. I had never made flank steak before and just bought it because it was on sale. It came out so incredibly tender. I didn't change anything and marinated overnight. Fantastic!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I used boneless chicken thighs and browned them in a cast iron pan, then added chicken stock. I let the chicken cook through, then added the vegetables and boiled for 5 minutes (cooking the veg for 15 minutes is WAY too long in my opinion.) Drained the chicken/veg and saved the stock to add to the cream sauce. I will definitely make this again.

Curried Coconut Chicken

Great recipe. As another reviewer said, you can't screw it up. I made several mistakes and it still came out really good. Next time I will be more careful and I'll bet it will be even better.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
These are the best! I have tried to save calories by baking wings, but they're just not as good as these which are deep-fried. This is my go-to recipe.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
This pie was outstanding! I used a deep dish pie shell and 4 apples and it was just the right amount. I followed the advice of other reviewers and doubled the amount of topping. Next time I won't double it, but will make one and a half the amount. Doubling it produced just a bit more than I could fit on the pie.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
The high-ratings on this recipe are more for the cooking technique than the actual 4 ingredients. You can play with the spice mix however you want - I doubled the garlic powder and added Montreal Steak seasoning and rosemary. It came out absolutely perfectly. I made this for my Mom on Mother's Day and like some others, I was apprehensive about leaving it in the oven all afternoon, but it worked perfectly. My mom and my husband said it was the best prime rib ever. Thanks!

Stuffed Pork Chops : Claire Robinson : Food Network

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2011
This was excellent. Pork came out moist and the sauce was very good. I used dried figs and apricots (soaked in water first). It would also be good with raisins, dried cherries, prunes, etc. Also would be good with bleu cheese or gorgonzola.

Yup, this is it - my new go-to meatloaf recipe. Just the right amount of everything. It would be good without the cheese, but it does make it even better.

Mahogany Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
This was really tasty. I used it on chicken thighs and legs instead of wings. I reduced the chile paste to 1 Tbsp. because I don't like things spicy, but in hindsight, I could have used 2 Tbs and it would have been OK.
