Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
Used frozen spinach and canned mushrooms, added a chopped onion. Loved it - it was excellent over whole wheat pasta.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2010
This was OK, but I found it to be very salty with both the onion soup and the soy sauce. I don't think I would try this recipe again.

G's Flank Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
This was outstanding. I had never made flank steak before and just bought it because it was on sale. It came out so incredibly tender. I didn't change anything and marinated overnight. Fantastic!

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
I am giving this 5 stars only for the cooking method; I did not try the BBQ sauce yet. I will try it next time and update my review. I will always continue to cook ribs this way from now on. I've finished them off on the grill and in the oven at 450. Both ways work great. When I did them in the oven, I saved the water mixture and used it for soup. I refrigerated the broth overnight and removed the fat the next day. It made GREAT soup.

Sweet Lime Iced Tea

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
Excellent. I am making it today for the third time in a row. I can't keep it in the house. I've made it exactly as the recipe indicates and I've also made it with only a cup of sugar and then added splenda, just to cut the calories a bit. Either way, it's the most refreshing summer drink.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
I'm giving this recipe a 5 because my husband loves them. I also thought they were great, but I prefer a crispy cookie, while these were soft and chewy. I wasn't sure about the cloves, so I split the batter in 2 and did cloves in one half and nutmeg in the other and they were both really good. The clove flavor was so subtle, you could barely detect it. I will make these again and won't be afraid to include the cloves next time.

Used a touch less sugar and a splash more vinegar. Perfect.

Restaurant-Style Coleslaw I

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
Excellent - but add 1 tsp of celery seed for perfection. Also, it's not a bad idea to chop more cabbage than needed because you can add to it after a couple of days.

White Chocolate Fruit Tart

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
This was really good and I will make it again. However, I wish it was a little less sweet. I am a sugar-addict with a raging sweet tooth, and yet I think next time I will reduce the sugar in the crust. For the white chocolate in the filling, I used Ghiradelli white chips; maybe I need to find something just a bit less sweet. However, the presentation was extremely impressive and guests loved it. Worth another try.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I was actually not that impressed with these. I followed the recipe exactly and used good quality cocoa and choc chips, but the predominant flavor was just "sweet". With the high ratings on this recipe, maybe that's just what most people like. The texture was good, but the taste was below average. If you're going to take the time to bake from scratch, it's gotta be better than a box mix. These just were not.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2010
I thought the flavors in this were OK but the sauce came out very thin. Next time I will leave out the chicken broth and only add it at the end if I need more liquid. I still gave it a 4, because overall I liked it and it could be that I made a mistake, since I doubled it. I will try it again.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
Excellent. Great with shrimp but I'm sure it would taste just as good with chicken or beef. I added a package of frozen stir-fry veggies, which made it even better.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Good recipe. Will make again. I gave it 4 instead of 5 because I didn't think it was as amazing and incredible as some others. Just a good basic meatloaf.
