Pasta e Fagioli I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
This recipe is so easy, so inexpensive, and so yummy. I served it with garlic breadsticks that I made out of leftover hot dog buns & the whole family ate it up! I garnished it with a little grated Romano that I had. I also used ditalini pasta instead of seashell pasta, because that's what was in all the photos and is the kind of pasta I normally see this soup made with. I served it for lunch and my husband asked me if I could make a double batch to have for dinner on the same day!

Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
LOVE this dish. My kids beg for it & would eat it every week. The only changes that I made were to add sliced red peppers with the broccoli (I just steam them together) and I also double the ingredients for the sauce part because my family likes to have a little more sauce for the rice. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Pollo Fajitas

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
Yummy! My daughter who doesn't even like green peppers ate 3 of these. And my husband liked it so well that he ate the chicken and veggies straight from the skillet. I definitely will make this one again. Thanks!

Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
AWESOME!! Just finished making my 3rd batch of this salsa in as many days, and this time I made a triple batch since it disappears so quickly. Even my kids eat it up (although some of them have to drink a little milk because of the spiciness) I make the recipe exactly as is except for a few things: Though the recipe doesn't call for it, I peel & seed the tomatoes. I also used a little less salt & a little less cilantro because ths was my husband's preference. My husband also requested that I not take any of the seeds or pulp out of the peppers, so I just cut them up into a small dice including the entire pepper (it is spicy, but we love it this way) This salsa tastes just as good as that which we always bought from the local Mexican restaurant. It is somewhat time-consuming to cut everything into a small dice, but the yumminess is worth it. I used to just make my salsa without a recipe, so it never tasted exactly the same from one time to another. It's great to have such a delicious recipe so that I know that it will be fabulous every single time. Thanks so much bluebayou!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Taste was pretty good on this soup, but I think that next time I will probably add some smoked sausage to make it a little more substantial.

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Easy & yummy ... we had no leftovers. I used cream of celery instead of cream of mushroom (just a personal preference), and used milk instead of water. Next time I will let it cook a little longer, because in our crock pot 4 hours wasn't quite long enough, and some of the potatoes were still a little crunchy.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2009
I've used this recipe for months and have just never got around to reviewing it. I was reminded tonight when we ate it that this is the very best macaroni salad. This is the only recipe that I ever use, and we never buy macaroni salad in the grocery store deli anymore! (I do modify it by only using 1/4-1/3 c. sugar as other reviewers have suggested)

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
Just made this today with quesadillas for lunch and my family liked it so much that they requested that I make it every day. I have often bought the little packets of convenience mexican & taco rice because I hadn't found a good recipe to make from scratch.... my family all agreed that this rice was better than any of the others. (My kids actually said they would rate it higher than 5 star if they could)

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
WOW! I know so many people have already reviewed this recipe, but my family told me that I needed to do it, too. We have 6 children, so sometimes it can be difficult to find foods that everyone likes ... except pizza, and who can eat that every night of the week? I decided to try this recipe last night, even though one of my daughters is a die hard mac 'n cheese hater, and it was completely gone in less than 15 minutes. (The die hard mac 'n cheese eater had 2 servings). Everyone was upset that there was none left & begged me to please make 2 pans of it next time! This recipe has so many great things going for it: It is a breeze to make, it is relatively inexpensive, and everybody thought it was worthy of 5 stars. This was also the first mac and cheese recipe that I ever tried which used shredded cheese instead of Velveeta & yet was not stringy. I'm sure that we will be making this again & again. Thanks for a terrific recipe!

Microwave Potato Chips

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
My sister & i were searching on allrecipes for something to fix the kids we were babysitting for dinner. This is the perfect recipe. Even though it isn't meant to be a dinner recipe, it worked perfectly!! It is really easy I made this recipe with the potatoes i had on hand, (which were red skin potatoes) and they were D-LICIOUS!!! This is a make again recipe and i suggest that EVERYONE will at least try this recipe. You will definately want to make it again!!

Easy Cheese Ball II

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
I had never made a cheese ball before, so I chose this recipe since it looked like it would be super easy for a novice. It was a breeze to make, the ingredient list was brief, and best of all it tastes absolutely delicious. I made it for my daughter's birthday party tomorrow, but I have feeling that after tasting just a little of it while I was making it, that my husand is going to request that I make another one that we can eat tonight. Yes, it's THAT good! The only thing was that I ended up needing less pecans than the recipe called for ... perhaps because I used pecan chips which were in smaller pieces. Great recipe! Thanks so much for sharing it, it's a keeper!

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
This was super easy & absolutely delicious. My entire family -- husband and all 5 kids-- ate it up and asked for more. The only comment that my husband made was that it was kind of salty for his taste. I'll definitely add this into our regular rotation of recipes. It reminded us all a lot of the chicken alfredo from Pizza Hut (but for much less money). Thanks for submitting it!
