About this Cook
I am married to a FABULOUS man! He is my everything! I have a beautiful daughter who always makes me smile! I love being a mommy and a homemaker, yet years ago I would have never thought I would! I enjoy working out and taking walks with my daughter.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts!!! Who doesn't love cookies, brownies, cupcakes, fudge, breads and cakes...?!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We always used to bake cookies for Santa, like many families. Now I am sharing that tradition with my daughter and we bake cookies on Christmas Eve.
My cooking triumphs
My husband loves meat, so when we switched to ground turkey because it was healthier, it was a hard transition for him. He loves it now, but I was having a hard time developing recipes. I always used cookbooks and the net to find recipes. One night, I decided that I have cooked so many things and watched so many cooking shows, that I could make something on my own. That was the nite "Mamma Mia Misty's Meatballs" were born. I get lots of requests for them!!
My cooking tragedies
I always get upset when something doesn't turn out how I expected, but I bake often for my husbands staff which they love. I had called him at work and the lady who answered the phone recognized my voice. She begged for some cookies, so I told her I would have my husband bring some in the next day. I made my awesome Monster Cookie batter. I baked 4 different batches and NONE of them turned out...I don't know what happened. It was sad to dump the rest in the trash! The staff was pretty dissappointed the next day!

Sloppy Joes II
Yummo!! Donate the canned sloppy joe's mix and make this! This was fast, easy and delicious! Reminded me of dinner as a kid. The only changes I made was used ground turkey, fresh minced garlic and add some worchestshire sauce. I did double the sauce because I like it really sloppy! Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake
This was my first time to make carrot cake so I wanted to try this recipe because of all the rave reviews. it turned out pretty good. I omitted the walnuts and raisins. I made them into cupcakes and it made 26 and they only needed to cook for 20 mins. The problem was because it is such a moist cake, a lot of it got stuck the paper cups. I think I am going to try a couple more recipes though to find that true southern carrot cake I remember as a kid.

Sausage, Peppers, Onions, and Potato Bake
This was alright. I don't really understand all the rave reviews. I used italian turkey sausage and only chicken stock in place of the wine because I didn't have any. I had to bake it about 35 mins because the potatoes were still hard and that caused the peppers to become really mushy and the sausage kind of dry. Maybe the potatoes should not be "thickly sliced". It was pretty easy and tasted ok. Not the best thing I have ever made, but I would make it again in a pinch since it doesn't require a lot of ingredients or work.
