Cheesy Broccoli Quinoa

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2014
Made it exactly to recipe except I only had chicken broth. Was fantastic! Will make it many times again. Plan to try it next time with veggie broth as suggested.

Zesty Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
So tasty. One thing I've learned to do different is for those with family or friends who do not like tomatos (go figure, right?) Just leave the tomatoes on the side adding them as you scoop out a serving if desired. Then those who love and hate tomatos are all satisfied. I will make this again and again (about to make it again right now!)

Winter Blossom's Often Requested Ham Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
Made it exactly as instructed except I didn't have enough ham, so I added corned beef since I had a corner of one left. Really, really good! I'm certain this recipe would be just as yummy with chicken or tuna.

Green Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
Delicious. Only thing I added was juice of a lime because I know our favorite Mexican restaurant uses it in their green salsa. This is now in my recipe box for good :)

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
First time I made them followed recipe exactly and they are now the only choc. chip cookie I'll make. So...I decided to tweek it for a twist. Added 1/4 cup powered chocolate and used 1/4 cup less flour. Substituted high-quality white chocolate chips and added 1 cup walnut pieces. Same cook time same everything else. AMAZING. Now I have 2 types of choc chip cookies to hand out for Christmas. Both are a huge hit :>)

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2012
I will give this 5 stars because in my opinion it is a PERFECT base-recipe. I've made it exactly as described by the original poster and tried several of the suggestions by those who rated it. I've found I can use this with all main ingredients and experiment with a variety of changes and/or additions...and it never fails to please everyone.

Cheese-Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
These are wonderful. Only thing I did differently was precook the jalapenos in the microwave using a tupperware steam cooker for 3 minutes on 75% power. That way the water doesn't remove the hotness of the pepper as we LOVE IT HOT @ my house. These are going to be made often once the garden comes in and I can experiment with different types of hot peppers :)

Grilled Bacon Jalapeno Wraps

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
Yum, yum and yum. Only thing I did differently was partially freeze before grilling or brioling to help keep the cream cheese intact. Have prepared these several times and since I have SO many types of peppers experimented with Banana and Poblanos. Those were a bit more difficult to wrap with bacon due to the shapes, but still amazing. I am making a hoard of these to freeze and enjoy over the winter months since I've such a bumper crop of peppers. This is a wonderful treat for those of us who LOVE hot food. Will be sure to attempt some of the variations I'm seeing here.

The Best Fresh Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2011
Used this recipe for my first try at salsa and it was a delicious success! Being in a hurry I tried putting my tomatoes in a blender instead of chopping and they were too runny. For the cure I simply poured them into a large strainer over the sink to allow the excess liquid drain. It worked well and now I"ll used that method to cut down on time since I have an overabundance of tomatoes in my garden this year. I will be making a number of batches with this recipe while my tomatoes and hot peppers are still producing :) Thanks so much for posting this recipe.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2011
I prepared exactly as described but used baked trout my husband had caught in the stream (after deboning of course). This is the best fish cake recipe I've ever tried. Thanks for posting it!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
I modified using Bison burger which is very lean. Personally, I liked the sweetness and put 1/2 of the brown sugar mixture on bottom & 1/2 on top...will make more of it to put on next time and try it using venison. I have never made a meatloaf before I though would be good enough to feed someone not in my family (as they are hostages at dinner time :>)..but this is good enough to bring somewhere and know there will be no leftovers.
