I am married to a wonderful man who give me free reign in the kitchen and always comes to my aide when I need help there too. We are both ministers and work full time as well
My favorite things to cook
I just love to cook. I love tryng new recipes and swapping out things to fit our tastes. If I had to choose tho I would say desserts the fancier the better
My favorite family cooking traditions
We really didn't have any family traditions. I lived with my gramma growing up and there was no instant anything in our home. Everything was made from scratch from bread to pudding and it was all very precise. I learned to make cookies from gramma and listened to her stories of the lue ribbons she had won at local county fairs for her pies and cakes.
My cooking triumphs
pulling together holiday meals for 15 or more without any help at all.
My cooking tragedies
A recipe I found for porkchops with clove. I was trying to impress my step dad with my culinary skills and the cloves were so srong it wasn't fit to eat. It was a huge disaster.

Cashew Raisin Rice Pilaf
I am not a rice fan but I have to say this is some of the best rice I have ever had. It wasn't hard, the ingredients were easily obtainable and it made way moer than the 2 of us could eat in one setting(and I did cut the recipe way down) It will be something I will be proud to serve for guests and family alike.

Spanish Rice Original
I am not a big fan of rice but this was spectacular. Not too spicy yet very flavorful. I used Jasmine rice instead of white rice and it turned out fantastic. I didn't cut down the prtions tho and for 2 it was way too much. Will need to do tht next time I make this dish.
