Braised Balsamic Chicken Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Great menu. The chicken was very easy to make and had a great depth of flavor. I will absolutely be making again. The Orzo pastas side dish is really just homemade Rice-A-Roni only 100 times better. We love Asparagus and enjoyed the twist using seseme seed oil and toasted seseme seeds. A winner dinner with NO leftovers.

Jersey Fresh Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
This is excellent tomato soup. I saved this recipe this past summer while we were putting up our very large supply of tomatoes from our garden. I couldn't wait to make it. Well, tonight was the night. The only change I made was to use Lactose Free Whole Milk. Best creamy tomato soup ever! Thanks Shorecook! BTW, I love that there's carrot in it.

Pork Medallions with Balsamic Vinegar and Capers

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
We loved this very much. It's easy to prepare too. I followed the recipe exactly except I used Nasturtium pods instead of capers. I especially like the fresh taste the lemon zest gave to the finish. This recipe is going into my pork meal rotation in the "my menus" section of AR. Thanks Marianne. We Loved it! BTW, served with steamed broccoli and baked potatoes.

Toll House Cookies are the best ever chocolate chip cookies. I made exactly as written. The secret to a perfectly domed cookies is "hand" mixing and NOT overmixing. These are just plain awesome...hot out of the oven with cold, cold milk. YUM and YUM!!!

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
This is the only white cake recipe I use. I make it because it's easy and very good. Light and fluffy too. Bake time in MY oven is only 18 minutes. The frosty I use is "Creamy Frosting" by Carol from this site. NOTE: Any recipe I make calling for milk products, I substitute Lactose Free Whole Milk.

Candy'D Sweet Potato Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I created this reciped last year and get rave reviews every time I make them. I also get requests to make these Sweet Tater CC from even those who HATE Sweet Potatoes. They really are light and delicious. Not heavy as you might expect. BTW, don't try to pipe the icing. Just slather it on. It's sweet and yummy!

Bacon Apple Mushroom Hash with Ginger Poached Eggs

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
I created this recipe for the October 2011 Gang-Up Challange. I added one ingredient to the 10 ingredients selected. Sugar. After researching the internet, I decontructed the basic HASH formula; Finely shredded meat (usually leftover roast) and potatoes. I used finely diced bacon and apples. Most HASH recipes also contain onions and sometimes mushrooms. The recipe above is my final creation. Surprising, this was really very good. My hubby told to me... "be sure you save the recipe so you can make it again." Coming from him, that makes this a 5 Star Recipe!

Spaghetti Pie II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2011
We really liked this easy, quick and INEXPENSIVE dish and I will definately make again. I used plain greek yogurt drained mixed with 1 beaten egg and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning in place of the Cottage Cheese for Lactose Intolerance reasons (as suggested by my AR Buzz Buddies), but otherwise made following the directions. Also, I want to make note that I DID NOT increase any amounts and 3 adults ate it for two meals. One pound of hamburger for 6 adult servings? Now, that's eating on the cheap! A great bargin meal.

Since I'm not a "from scratch" bread maker, I was so happy to see bellepepper's recipe for a quick and very tasty bread that would compliment any meal. My family LOVED those little bisquits. I can see a multitude of variations on this recipe too! Thank you bellepepper for sharing your creation with us. I'll be making again soon! 5 great BIG stars!!!!!

Real Strawberry Frosting

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2011
Very Intense Strawberry Flavor without using artificial flavoring. Since I was looking for flavor, I actually didn't expect the consistency to be one that I could put in a pastry bag and pipe onto the cupcakes. But I thought, what the heck. I'll give it a try. And, guess what? It's perfect for piping!

Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
This is a good way to make ice cream if you are LACTOSE intolerant. Yogurt does NOT contain Lactose. You can use any fruit and any flavor yogurt. It really is good. And, if you're weight conscious, this has far fewer calories.

Box cake mix, minus the box

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
I made up this cake mix right after it was posted by RG to take with me to my daughter's house when we visited during Spring Break. We made every version of it there was. I failed to give it a review when we came home. So, here I am getting ready to make up another batch. It is a great and flexible "bulk" recipe and easy to make different flavors. Good, tasty and we all loved it. Thanks so much RG and please forgive my very tardy revie.

Warm Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2011
Today I made an "Italian Easter Cake." The recipe calls for a light dusting of powdered sugar. I've been wanting to try Avon's "Warm Orange Sauce" and thought it would go well with this Orange flavored dump-and-mix cake. It was fantastic. These two recipes were meant for each other. It's not too sweet either. My husband and I both ate two BIG pieces and ALL the Orange Sauce. YUM!!!! Thanks Anne!
