Day two of the Pacific Northwest Round Up began with a few of us girls heading out Saturday morning to downtown Albany for a little bead, produce & antique shopping. Funny how things go from one thing to another and we end up somewhere else..... Like the LOCAL BREWERY! What? How'd that happen?

And where oh where is Magnolia Blossom and Cookin' Cyn. We lost them on the way somewhere.....

Me, Biker Family & Debi do a little Beer Sampling at Calapooia Brewery,

our local Beer Making Establishment and Public House.

We needed some Growlers for our Party.

Raspberry Beer anyone? It was actually very good!

Meanwhile.... back at The Grill Station

Peeps begin to arrive and Orange & Brian gear up!

MauiGirl looks at phone pics with Orange

But, wait..... we need something to drink, right?

Beer? Sangria! Wine - any kind, any flavor! Blue Meanies?

At one point MauiGirl commented that we didn't have enough alcohol!

Is that a shot of Blue Meanie in your hand Mags?

Are Avon & Magnolia Blossom drinking BM Shots. What? The?.....

Yes! I think they are! And, Sangria!

LOL! Phones! Look at everyone checking out their phone pics. Hilarious!

So, you know how you store pictures on your phone, camera, or other electronic device. Or if you are really old school you have prints put away, and then forgotten. Well thanks to my sweet wife with her blog, I was reminded of the great time and all the wonderful people from AR that attended our PNW roundup. I cannot express the joy I received from the comradery of this amazing group. I was fortunate enough to make new friends and see old ones. I truly had a good time. And revisiting it through Candice’s blog and picture posts were fun and less work. Zest Out.
Aug. 23, 2014 1:36 pm
Wow, you all must have had a wonderful time, and the food YUM.. Thanks for sharing Candice..
Aug. 23, 2014 2:10 pm
Orange, it was so wonderful to meet you. An excellent host and grill/smoke master. Had to wear the Magnolia Blossom t-shirt given to me by my dear Midwest Round-up friends. Love you gals!! Can you tell I was doing some hardcore drinking there? Well maybe not for those that know me well, LOL. The food was awesome by evidenced by the great pics. But you can't beat the joy of meeting up with these wonderful AR peeps. Hugs to all!
Aug. 23, 2014 5:24 pm
Just a great weekend! Saturday was ALL about the food. Of course, that IS what has brought all of us together to begin with. Dad's a smoking/ grilling machine. The ribs and chicken were to die for. The potato pouches we made were delish (sorry I took all the leftovers potatoes home)! The smoked salmon and sausage were so good, as evidenced by it all being eaten. The salads and sides really showed off the bounty that is Oregon. I love our state and I'm glad we got to show it off! A great time was had by all.
Aug. 23, 2014 6:28 pm
Brilliant photos of wonderful people and food. I feel a bit more as if I was there because the photos laid out a great story of your day. Nice action shots, especially of buzzers peering into their Swag Bags or engrossed in conversation. And I got to meet Mrs. bd. weld! Thank you for all of this.
Aug. 24, 2014 5:31 am
It looks like you guys had some amazing food! What a wonderful time you had!
Aug. 24, 2014 7:13 am
Candice and Zest, Thanks so much for your amazing hospitality. You two are truly the "bestest" hosts ever. Lily wants to extend her paw and thanks for the kindness extended to her too. She was pleased to be among friends after a long road trip with mom and dad. Can't wait to see you all again! Love to you all!!!!

Christine NICU RN, LOL! Wow! You said it. OrangeZest truly IS a fabulous cooker of all things meat! Saturday was all about the food and we sure had plenty of it. Thank you for all your help!

MauiGirl, aaawww! Thank you! We both loved your Lily! We have never seen or been around such a well behaved pet! EVER! It was good to see you and Mike too! And, so glad you three made it back home in one piece! Until next time!
Aug. 24, 2014 7:51 pm
Candice oh shucks, I love being your partner and I love you. Zest out.
Aug. 24, 2014 7:54 pm
Hi Gary! Thanks so much for dropping in to read the second installment of my Round Up Blog. OrangeZest's outdoor grill station is his domain. He's very serious about it too! LOL! With two smokers and an infrared grill, he puts lots and lots of meats and cheese on the table. We haven't had a BBQ in years. Just smokers and a grill. He's got mad cooking skills!
Aug. 25, 2014 12:33 am
Candice! Are you STILL hoarding the potato chips?! [By the way, I'll send another batch, as soon as the weather starts to cool ;) So you can have pretty little chips, instead of one great big hunk!]
Aug. 25, 2014 12:37 am
By the way, I wanna know what was in the water! Brian's is glowing, just like MB's! You know what's missing from the pics and story, is how Brian's apron got loaded up, and ALL the menfolk had to try it on and model it - and how hard we all laughed! What fun! I miss you all, so much! And everyone who was unable to go were SO missed! I'm excited to see that Celeste is planning to head to Vegas next spring!!! How exciting to keep expanding our group and keep meeting already loved "new" peeps!
Aug. 25, 2014 12:39 am
Candice, I have pictures of the salmon, I'll send them to you! I nearly snuck what was left in my purse ;) But I'm sure everyone on my plane was SO happy I didn't! I could not get enough of that salmon!!! Thank you, Orange!!!
Aug. 25, 2014 12:40 am
[Love the pictures of MB in her MB t-shirt! She doesn't need a name tag ;)]
Aug. 25, 2014 7:52 am
Barb, as a meter of fact.... YES! I am. I have about a handful left in my freezer. I think I've been saving them for a special occasion! LOL! Today might be special. Right?
Aug. 25, 2014 7:54 am
Most of the pics I've posted have been sent to me by others as I was too busy to take many photos. I think the light was just right on the H2O bottles, but we could make up a story about Oregon water!
Aug. 25, 2014 7:55 am
And, yes! Would you pretty please send me pics of the Salmon. I would be most grateful! Hugs dear BarbieGirl!
Aug. 25, 2014 1:10 pm
boy this round-up was a lot of fun, I laughed soo hard at all the guys...and just so they know, Candice and I have evidence at what the guys were allllll involved in LOL!!! it was a blast and that salmon...good grief, just thinking about it, I'm drooling. The food was excellent and I think I need to place my order with OrangeZest for a huge amount for our Thanksgiving gathering ;-) moonkid and I still talk about all the wonderful moments her and I had up there.
Aug. 25, 2014 7:00 pm
Candice: The first PNW Roundup was history in the making. Oh, sure, it was the first of what I hope to be many more get-togethers. But you, Orange and Christine did so much to assure everyone was well fed, comfortable, and having a great time! If anyone is interested, my mom's dip recipe...
Aug. 25, 2014 7:49 pm
I've seen gammaray's purse, so not sure how she thought there would be room for smoked salmon. Although she probably did have some crackers in there!
Aug. 25, 2014 8:20 pm
Oh Lord....the pictures :( Ugh,and again what wasn't mentioned was the extreme heat and how we were all melting, which would explain air dried hair instead of putting a blow dryer to it and a loose fitting flowing dress to let air circulate. :) We all had a ton of fun. And the food.....too bad the rest of the AR family missed out on the best dang food on the planet. Such a good thing we all like to eat.
Aug. 25, 2014 11:37 pm
So Avon let's Susie air out, too?! O= LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
Aug. 25, 2014 11:38 pm
Or, maybe Avon LETS Susie air out ;}
Aug. 25, 2014 11:39 pm
And, MB, I'm sure I don't know what you are talking about ;) [You would be shocked to see my purse this week! Nearly empty, and actually light-weight! I'm afraid my boy scout troop will fire me for not being prepared!]
Aug. 27, 2014 10:18 am
Mis7up, thank you so much! We sure did have a wonderful time! It was because some of the bestest folks on earth came. I'm still laughing over so many things that just pops into my mind about that weekend. Great big hugs to you and moonkid!
Aug. 27, 2014 10:24 am
Bikerfamily, thank you! YOU are the amazing one! I so love that I have a PNW buddy in WA state. While we won't be having a "Blow-out" event like that one ever again, we will be having "NOT-so-blow-out" get togethers in the future. Pssssst! I think we'll be traveling your way this Fall. I'll be in touch so we can connect. Hugs to you my sweet friend!
Aug. 27, 2014 10:25 am
Oh! And, thank you, thank you, thank you for posting the Salsa Recipe. It is Amazing!!!
Aug. 27, 2014 7:16 pm
@Magnolia Blossom & gammaray... I always think we should play some sort of "Do you have a (fill in the blank)in your purse?" game whenever we're all together. Me thinks BarbieGirl would win hands down. No matter the requested items! LOL!
Aug. 27, 2014 7:18 pm
Avon! Mercy!!!! You are so beautiful inside & out! But, you're right, it was so bloody hot during the Round Up! We didn't even get to have our S'Mores Bar! No way was I going to light up the Fire Pit! NO WAY!!!
Aug. 28, 2014 3:15 am
Candice: I'm hoping someone else picks up the torch and decides to host the next PNW Roundup. Glad to hear you are possibly heading north. That would be great! Let me know and I'll be prepared to meet up with you!
Aug. 29, 2014 8:22 am
Thank you Candice for posting all the pictures and stories of your wonderful weekend. Everyone looks so happy and the food looks amazing!Lily has stolen my heart. What a cutie pie! Looking forward to day three!
Aug. 29, 2014 11:55 am
bikerfamily, yes I will most certainly let you know. Wouldn't that be great to get together again?
Aug. 29, 2014 11:57 am
Miss Kitty, you are so welcome! We all had so stinkin' much fun. I'm thinking the reason we all looked so happy is because, well.... we were! We ate and visited, and drank, and visited, and went to some amazing places. So much fun!
Aug. 30, 2014 7:39 pm

About Me
I am a wife and mother of 5 grown children. Being semi-retired has allowed me time to do things I've put off doing; like really learning to cook and bake. I also love to garden, read, scrapbook and just recently I've gotten into geneology. I am loving this phase of my life with my husband and family.
My favorite things to cook
Fresh garden vegetables and fruits. The anticipation of what my garden will produce is always a joy. I also love to bake. And, Mostly I love to bake cupcakes and sweet treats.
