Devil with the Blue Dress, blue dress, blue dress......

Holy Cow! Now that the weather's warmed up, my blueberries on coming on faster than I can pick them. This morning we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. I made blueberry smoothies to have with our lunch and just finished making the Creamy Blueberry Pie Mitch from Idaho recommended. Plus, I cleaned and froze another 10 cups. My apron I think is permantly dyed BLUE. Think I'll relagate it as my "Blueberry" uniform. My little fingertips are blue and even my lips are blue. No, I don't have a heart condition. I just eat a handful every so often while cooking and freezing the little "blue-burgers."

I'm jealous! I have to drive about 40 minutes to get farm fresh blueberries =)

Lucky you! I paid $6 at Costco the other day for a 2 lb container, and they've been sitting in the fridge since I have neither the room in the freezer for them, nor did I want to turn on the oven. I finally caved, and have a lovely blueberry crumb pie baking now. I've made it three times in the last month, and it's the BOMB! The recipe is here on AR if you're interested. My kids call them "blue babies" lol.

Hi Candice. I'm just up the road from you in Salem and yeah....tell me about heat. This kind of heat all at once is going to ripen everything in the valley at once. Hope you have freezer space for it all. I just got a bunch of blueberries tonight, I may just make some jam or eat fresh it's too hot to cook or bake right now.

Candice- I picked bunches of blueberries at my dad's tree farm. We've been eating them like crazy too! I just posted a blog on blueberry jam--- you should try it for sure!

Mmmmmm, Blueberry Crumb Pie! That sounds so yummy Rebecca! I'll look the recipe up. Thanks. Avon, yes....fortunately we have a great big chest freezer. I have 8 blueberry plants in varying varities and they come on at different times beginning in July til about mid August. We get tons. Kathleen, I'm heading to your Blog right now to check out your blueberry jam story.
