Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

I love this sauce! I have made it several times and have doubled and even tripled the batch at times (when I'm making a huge recipe of pasta to take to new friends with babies). Super easy, and it tastes better than what you'll find in most restaurants (since so many restaurants use a packaged mix for sauces like this nowadays). I came to the site just now to double check the amounts of all of the ingredients - I'm going to put it in a casserole with pasta that has cooked chicken, bacon, spinach, and mushrooms in it - yum!!

Homesteader Cornbread

This is my go to cornbread recipe with a couple of modifications. I use less sugar most of the time - usually 1/4 cup. And I always substitute 1 stick of melted butter for the oil. Occasionally I'll add some frozen corn and green chilies and maybe some cooked breakfast sausage. To save time, I've started just mixing as I would any other quick bread, mixing dry ingredients and adding wet ingredients, skipping the soaking. There is probably a difference but we like it fine that way and I like saving those few minutes. I use a somewhat coarse cornmeal but the bread still has a soft texture. My husband said the other day that he used to enjoy the box mixes that he always made before we were married but that the cornbread I make now ruined those forever :)

Addicting Chip Dip

Loved it! My 7 yr old daughter just asked me to make it again, and she knows what's in it :) It really is addicting - the flavors go really well together.

Chocolate Chess Pie II

I love the proportion of ingredients in this recipe. Not too sweet but with plenty of chocolate flavor. The only change I made was to add the vanilla after the mixture was taken off the heat, but I also noticed that the text of the recipe doesn't say when to add the butter, so I guessed and put it in before pouring the filing into the crust.
