Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
This is a great recipe but for the old timers we did not use whole milk in it. We used half and half canned carnation milk with 1/2 water and it is much richer and always use bacon or sausage drippings to get the authentic taste.

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2011
The person who said flour tortilla's ugh, well let me tell you we all are not of hispanic desent and prefer a softer wrap this ia our choice to make and not to have someone chactise us for it. I like both but not corn perticularly. So if you can't say something nice don't write a comment.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
This makes the juciest burgers and the gravy was great even the next day.The only thing I saw that it was not salty enough had to add salt at table. I did try by adding mushrooms but I won't do that again, it was not as good and don't slice the onions so thin they tend to cook away. But is is probably the first Hamburger Steak recipe I have gotten that the meat was not tough and tasteless. Try it you will like it. The red wine is next to be added.

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: May 30, 2011
I did it as you see the recipe all but used half ck soup half mushroom not as strong or salty.I only used about 1/2 -3/4 pkg soup mix. The gravy is a little light colored but I hate the dark gravy in the jars so I added a few drops of gravy master browning sauce to change the color but not the taste like the dark brown gravy mix does. Also added sauted fresh button Mushroom just before serving. Fantastic taste

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
It was really a great pie but I learned from my greatgrandma that you can put a dusting of cornstarch in the bottom of the pie crust to keep it from being soggy instead if egg white.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2011
I thought it was great a change from hamburger or beef. The thing I did to shorten the time was precooked my chicken then cut it up and put all to gether except sour cream on high for about 1 hr. then served over noodles or rice your choice.

White Nacho Cheese Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This is OK but if you go to a store that sells to the public restaurant foods and get Land o Lakes white melting cheese in a big block and melt it over a double broiler with you adding milk til you get to the restaurant consistency you want you will be very happy. You can add chopped halapino's for extra kick but the restaurants if they make there's from scratch use that brand of cheese.

Better Than Best Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2010
I think it was great . My 9yr old was not told what the ingrd. were or she wouldn't eat it. So I dindn't tell her and she raved over it and said Mom never cook it any other way,Thank god NO more Mc Donalds nuggets. But I did add 1/4 can water to it the mix was a little to thick. I put all together at 1 time and floured chk. before putting in the mix to marinate. I am 68 and been cooking chicken for years. Where was this when my other kids were at home? If in doubt don't be just try it oncw and you will be hooked.
