Golden Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Delicious and flavorful! I followed the recipe as written and also added some chopped carrots and one undrained can of yellow corn. I also added an extra cup of water. It was a little on the salty side and that is the reason for the 4 stars rather than five. I added too much chicken base....so if you just stick to the recipe you shouldn't have that problem. I will definately make this again!!!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I made this in a bundt pan and cooked it a little longer that an hour when I should have just kept it to cook for only an hour. I stuck to the recipes vital ingredients but did make a few changes on some other things. I added an extra 1/2 cup of carrots, omitted the coconut, and used chopped pecans because that was what I had. I thought it turned out really yummy and fairly moist! I think it would have been better if I had stuck to the recipes cook time=more moist! I topped it with the creamy cream cheese frosting that is also on this site! I will probably make this again!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I really enjoyed the light and fluffy taste of this frosting recipe. The frosting was not runny at all. I whipped the cream on high in a stand mixer for a few minutes while I mixed the other ingredients thoroughly. Then I added the cram cheese mixture to the whipped cream and mixed it all very well in the mixer. I think the trick is to mix the cream longer so that it is very thick. I put this on top of carrot cake and it was very yummy! I think that I might even use this recipe for a dip for fruit! Thank you for the recipe!!!

White Gelatin

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
I made this for Easter dinner tonight and I was a little worried about how it was going to taste because it was so different from any other jello that I have ever made! I dressed it up with sliced strawberries and canned mandarine oranges, drained of course! The presentation was beautiful and I was actually pretty proud of the way it looked! Once everyone started to eat I was hearing "Who made the jello!" My older brother even said to me..."If I ever need to be fed from a tube, feed me this stuff!" Everyone loved it! I will definately make this again! I would say that it could even pass for a dessert as well as a side dish! I did vary a little from the original recipe....I added two package gelatin with 2/3 cup water and I added a little more cool whip. Thank you for the recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
This was delicious and perfect for a cold day! I also made a few changes to the recipe...I added two chicken boullion cubes to the pot after I added the water, I also didn't have any of the premade buscuits so I made some of my own using a recipe for dumplings from my Betty Crocker Cookbook. Oh and I also used frozen chicken breasts. It turned out great and was very filling!!! Will definately make this again!!!

Louisiana Sweet Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
I didn't really follow the recipe exactly. However, I got the idea to add sweet potato to pancakes from this recipe and it was fabulous! I just added about 2 1/2 cups of cooked/mashed sweet potato to 3 cups Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake Mix, and 2 1/4 cups water. I also added about 1 cup of water to the sweet potato so that is it more of a creamy consistency. Then I just cooked them on my griddle at about 350*. They were so good! My husband went back for seconds, which he never does when I make pancakes! And my 3 year old cleaned his plate of the 2 large pancakes that I served for him! We will definately be eating these again!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I made this for dinner last night just as the recipe instructed...except I just baked it in a regular casserole dish. I was very happy how it turned out and will absolutely be making this again! I fact that the recipe is sooooo simple makes it taste even better! Thanks for the recipe and all the other good tips from reading people's reviews!
