Precious Day Off

I have a day off! Of course, I also have way too much to do. It's better than the empty boredom I sometimes see in people who do not have rich lives and relationships, and my heart hurts for them. In my work, I see people who have nothing better to
do than sit around, smoke, dream up ways to create excitement (and sometimes chaos), and avoid the thoughts that they have no one and nothing in their lives for which to live. :(
So, off I go. Hopefully I'll get a chance to make this awesome soup that I have made before and which I think I have all the ingredients to make today. But before I get to that, I have a few more errands to run and stops to make.
And the race begins.... :)
- Shoe shopping: sounds like it should be fun, but with my terrible feet and pronounced orthotics, it is more a chore than a pleasure.
- Salvation Army: I have too many clothes! Someone else will be well dressed with the things that I have either outgrown :( or that I just have little to no occasion to wear anymore.
- Laundromat: Older daughter is coming home for term break, and I need to wash her bed comforter so that it is fresh and welcoming for her. :)
- Car maintenance: I have to take the minivan to a 65K "check-up" this afternoon to prepare it for the trip to go to younger daughter's Family Weekend at college in New York. My mother and stepfather and older daughter are coming, too. Good thing we have
- Then, maybe, cooking. !!
