I can't believe it has been two weeks since I last wrote here.  Then again, it has been a heck of a two weeks.  Broken tooth (twice), fender bender, and job insecurity...yikes.  Four different medical/dental appointments just in the past 8 days, but thankfully, just for checkups… MORE

It's almost 9:30 a.m., and I have done a couple of things already this morning - maybe actually 4 things?  With over a hundred tasks on my to-do list, it feels like a drop in the ocean, but it is a start.  So, what should I choose next? I'm at home for the week, but if I am not… MORE

It's hard to plan a dinner when hubby will probably be working late and high school daughter will be working on an English project with classmates outside the house during the dinner hour.  Then, incidentally, my own to-do list is perhaps hundreds of items long.  I think I wrote… MORE

Yes, today was an M&M day!  I couldn't get the darned things out of my mind; so, I finally picked up some Fun Size snack bags.  Peanut M&Ms are my favorite because I can delude myself into thinking they are somewhat healthy.  ;^) So tomorrow, on my "day off" (with at… MORE

Well, my DH will be playing racquetball tonight, and my dear daughter will be either sleeping off a virus or going to youth group.  So, what do I do for myself for supper?  I guess I will probably do the leftover Sweet and Sour Pork that I made in the slow cooker yesterday. … MORE

So my youngest daughter came home from school this morning, with my blessing, permission, and a dismissal note, because she is fighting off a cold and is exhausted.  Don't the celebrities use "exhaustion" as a reason to cancel performances?  I am concerned that my DH doesn't… MORE

Okay, so my DH tells me that we are broke (which is relative, since we really have TOO much).  What to make for dinner when the cupboards are supposedly bare?  Actually, as I scrounge around, I find enough stuff to pull together a pretty nice meal.  I would love to make some… MORE

I have very little time to post this morning, although I awoke at 5:27 a.m.  I think that any waking time before 6 a.m. is ungodly!  But--is that true?  I found myself also wondering where in the Bible God talks about sleep.  (Background: My DH and I had a disagreement this… MORE

I've wanted to journal for a while now, and though I have a paper journal, it is difficult to find the time to think through an entire entry.  Therein lies the problem: finding the time.  Jim Croce's song from 1972-3, "Time in a Bottle," puts it all too well.  "But there… MORE

About Me
I love Jesus Christ. I am sold out to working with children, especially to show the love of God to them. I also serve the seriously mentally ill, who are really quite delightful people when they are well.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook things to serve to family for family time together. It doesn't much matter what it is.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Everyone pitches in. That's the tradition I like so much.
