About this Cook
I am a college student, and have recently discovered my absolute LOVE for cooking! I never cooked when I was younger (I always let my parents do it for me!), but now that I have my own apartment..I've become a cooking fiend! OH, and I am a huge animal lover...I have 4 dogs (1 with me at school) and I love them to death!
My favorite things to cook
Pasta dishes, soups, fish, vegetables, oh and cookies
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes the best of everything: mashed potatoes, chicken noodle soup, carrot cake, red velvet cake, chocolate chip cookies, chicken marsala, baked mac-n-cheese, and the list goes on...I can't wait to learn to cook like her.
My cooking triumphs
I have mastered the ability to cook a delicious fish (especially tilapia). I'm all about presentation, so I like for meals to look beautiful on a plate..I'm always taking pictures of my masterpieces and sending them to friends/family!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing too serious...burned a couple of things, used too much of a particular ingredient...not many catastrophes though!

Japanese Onion Soup
Delicious! I've been craving this kind of soup for a couple of days now and I was going to just buy it, but I decided to make it. I actually used about 2 quarts of chicken broth and only a little water (maybe 1/2 quart water). I think the amount of water is maybe why some members complained about lack of flavor. I also sauteed the veggies in a little soy sauce before putting them in the broth. Awesome and super easy dish!
