Becca's Bruschetta

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2012
I found this recipe because I was trying to use up some feta and tomatoes before they went bad and it was fabulous!!! My husband and I ended up feasting on them! I didn't use fresh herbs because I didn't have them on hand. I also didn't have sliced canned olives so I used Greek olives instead.

Mushroom Orzo

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
This was great! I made it TWO nights in a row, my hubby and I loved it SOO much! I served it with teriyaki chicken and we thought they paired together well. I used half the butter, a few more pearl onions, and the first night I used 1/4 c white wine and 1/4 c chicken broth. The second night I used all chicken broth because I didn't have any wine to spare :)! Both turned out great! I also used dried parsley, which tasted fine to me.

Home Style Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This was OK. I'd say not 4 stars but not 3 either. I think the main problem may be that I all I had on hand was regular cheddar, sharp probably would have made it better. I sauteed some onions and garlic before added the flour, milk and cheese... and that part turned out fine.

Runzas II (Bierocks)

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
This recipe was GREAT! I didn't add MSG, I just seasoned the ground beef with cummin, garlic powder, and onion powder, I also cookied the cabbage first in beef broth... I'm sure whatever kind of broth you have on hand would do. I also added cheese and green peppers. I just bought pilsbary french bread dough (2 tubes). I made this for my husband and his, plus my 6 year old, we ALL loved it!! And my husbands friend was VERY impressed... and it was SOO easy!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
This was GREAT! I made the night before and wish now that I had doubled the recipe and stuck one in the freezer for the future! I let it simmer for about 30 min and then it together and put it in the fridge. If you like ricotta add more at least 8 more oz I'd say. I followed pretty much exactly what the recipe says the fennel adds a lot of flavor so if you have it on hand you should use it! I added nutmeg to the ricotta and used 3/4 of the crushed tomatos and added some diced tomatoes. Deffinatly a meaty sauce.

Fish Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I make the sauce anytime I make mexican! My husband lived in San Diego and has always complained a bout not being able to find a good fish taco since he left. I told him I was going to try and he told me not to even bother. Well he was SOO glad that I did. I have made this with different kinds of fish but grouper is the best to use.

Paprika Chicken with Sour Cream Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
This is GREAT, and simple! I use low fat creme soup and fat free sour cream, and it tastes just the same as when I made it with the regular stuff! I followed the recipe exactly as stated and it was wonderful! Great comfort food, and I just used plain old paprika.

Quinoa Side Dish

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I was not a fan of the quinoa. If you like it then this recipe would be good. It was my first and last time ever making quinoa. I just couldn't get past the texture. OTherwise the spices called for make it a good dish.

Lemon Orzo Primavera

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
This was SOOO good! I made just a few changes. I used chicken broth rather than vegie broth, and each time I have made it I have thrown what vegetables I have on hand. My husband loved it too. It is very light yet. Past few times I made it I haven't even added the thyme and parm. Infact I don't think I'll ever put thyme in it again. I also squeezed some of the lemon juice in as well...

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
I made this for dinner tonight and it was GREAT! I cooked thawed chicken breast in the crock pot for 2 hours on low and 1 1/2 on high. I didn't have italian dressing so I used greek dressing that I had on hand. I also added red onion and garlic. I first cooked the chicken with onion garlic dressing, worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Once the chicken was cooking I drained some of the liquid out and then added a bottle of sweet baby rays BBQ sauce. We had it on a whole wheat hamber bun, with potatoes and broccli! GREAT DINNER! And SOO easy!

Garlic Chicken with Orzo Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2010
This is VERY good I duobled the recipe and wish I would have made even more! I did as suggested and boiled orzo in chicken broth. I also didn't add chicken to the orzo because I was using this as a side item to chicken I had already made.

Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
I am giving this 4 stars because I made some changes to it. I added cubed chicken breast (coated in poultry seasoning, I cooked and set aside). For the sauce I used half chicken broth and half white wine. I also used a variety of different white cheeses on top. It was VERY good!
