Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2013
When I was mixing the batter it seemed really dry so I thought it was going to be dense, but I was seriously wrong! It is so light and fluffy, perfect balance of sweetness and my boys described it as "the best dessert ever!" I agree and it would also be great with coffee.

Grilled Chicken Pineapple Sliders

Delicious! I followed the recipe except I added pepperjack cheese to the chicken after cooking and these were amazing. My kids loved them too.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II

This is my new go to pound cake recipe, perfect texture and great flavor. I use it for strawberry shortcake. Also I usually freeze the second loaf and it turns out amazing.

Butterscotch Oatmeal

I loved the creaminess and flavor but wish I would have read others reviews first because it was way too sweet. Otherwise it's perfect!

Barbecue Ribs

Delicious and super tender. The only thing I changed was to halve the chili sauce because I was serving it to my kids, but I think otherwise the extra heat would be great too. Thanks for an amazing recipe!

Very Chocolate Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2013
Perfect chocolate ice cream! Tastes like Rocky Road without all the other ingredients. Perfect texture, even after freezing for a few days (I did put seran wrap over top before the ice cream lid which helps). Delicious!

Holiday Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2012
Yum yum yum! I made this with red instead of green bell peppers and toasted the nuts first, but otherwise this recipe is perfect as is. I made homemade croissants to go with it and had it for lunch, I was in heaven! I definitely reccomend letting the mixture sit in the fridge for a few hours to blend, especially if you cooked the chicken fresh like I did - it needs time to cool.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2012
Simply amazing how perfectly this recipe came together. It was my first attempt ever at making any sort of meringue and I was a bit terrified but won't be from now on! I did what others suggested, changed the serving size to 12 and added cream of tartar to the egg whites. I also blind baked a home made pie crust (believe it's called Flaky Pie Crust) and assembled everything while it still warm, let it sit at room temp for 1 hour, then in the fridge. I made it the night before and it was great. Thank you so much for this DELICIOUS recipe that my family all enjoyed for Thanksgiving desert.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Perfect alfredo recipe. The texture and flavor are spot on. Depending on your stove you might have to simmer closer to 8 minutes. I cut this recipe in half and use it as a white sauce for my homemade chicken, artichoke heart and sundried tomato pizza. I also use it for chicken and shrimp alfredo. My whole family loves it and it's definitely staying in my recipe rotation.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Seriously delicious - this recipe does not dissappoint. I did as the other reviewers suggested and made the lattice ahead of time, added 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of vanilla (omitting 1 tablespoon of the water). I also mixed the syrup to the apples and brushed a little on top of the crust and baked at 350 for about an hour. I made it to donate to my son's elementary school for auction and it sold for $17 and the woman who bought it said it was so delicious she would've paid a lot more. She gave me a taste and it was really good. The tartness of the granny smith apples is perfect so I wouldn't use any other apple. My only suggestion is to be careful not to over-cook the caramel sauce. I cooked it a little too long and it got a bit lumpy and didn't spread as well over the apples and crust.

Italian Style Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Great start but a little under seasoned. Next time I'll add a bit more of the spices and possibly some fennel seeds as well. But I will certainly be keeping this recipe and using it over and over. I put it into my homemade marinara sauce and I was really pleased. Thanks!

Best Marinara Sauce Yet

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
Great flavor and my new go-to recipe for spaghetti sauce. I used tomato sauce instead of blending the stewed tomatoes and I added 1 lb ground turkey, 1 lb Italian sausage (browned first), some red bell pepper and mushrooms. Delicious!

Lime-Aid

My friend used to make a similar drink which she called "Green Meanies" and we loved it! This drink is even better, so glad to have found it. It's like a vodka version of a margarita, but you can't even taste the alcohol so drink with caution.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Delicious. I didn't have white wine so I used champagne instead and it was so yummy! I agree with the others that the pan needed sprayed with cooking spray and the sauce was only really enough for 4 chops. I also heated the gravy in a pan, then poured it over the chops right before serving. The sauce could have used more wine and less milk, so I'll do that next time. And the baking time was off - I did it for about 50 minutes total.

Meatball Sandwich

Way too much Italian seasoning, it overpowered the sandwich. But the meatballs turned out perfectly cooked.
