About this Cook
I'm a mother of two boys (ages 5 & 3), happily married and a stay at home mom / student.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy entertaining, so I enjoy preparing appetizers, cocktails, large family meals and side dishes. I love baking, especially bread. When the boys were babies I loved making all of their baby foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lasagna, chicken cordon bleu, enchiladas, spaghetti and pot roast are all things I learned to cook growing up. I love baking rolls, wheat bread and sourdough bread.
My cooking triumphs
On a recent camping trip I made mashed sweet potatoes with sour cream and chives and the whole group went crazy for them! I also learned that homemade dinner rolls are not as difficult as I thought, same with homemade pizza dough.
My cooking tragedies
Everything when I first began! My husband and I moved in together when I was 18 and we lived off Hamburger Helper for the first few years because I ruined everything I touched in the kitchen!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream
Good basic recipe. Nothing outstanding flavor-wise, but it's a comforting, easy dish.

Baked Pork Chops I
Delicious. I didn't have white wine so I used champagne instead and it was so yummy! I agree with the others that the pan needed sprayed with cooking spray and the sauce was only really enough for 4 chops. I also heated the gravy in a pan, then poured it over the chops right before serving. The sauce could have used more wine and less milk, so I'll do that next time. And the baking time was off - I did it for about 50 minutes total.

Meatball Sandwich
Way too much Italian seasoning, it overpowered the sandwich. But the meatballs turned out perfectly cooked.
