Overnight Cinnamon Rolls I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Delicious cinnamon rolls! This was my first time making my own cinnamon rolls from scratch, and I was interested in this recipe because you could make the dough the day before and let it rise overnight. I followed the dough recipe exactly as written, other than the raisins (substituted sliced almonds) and the rolls were delicious! Slightly crispy outside, soft and delicate inside. The only reason I didn't give this recipe 5 stars is because the glaze is somewhat lacking in flavor, so I made a cream cheese frosting instead, which made these cinnamon rolls a 5-star recipe with that added to them. Made our Christmas morning extra special, thank you!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
Absolutely delicious! Made exactly as written except baked for an hour total so the apples would be more tender. The caramel is what makes this recipe, do not skip that step. Served to family who didn't normally like apple pie and they couldn't stop eating it. This will be my only apple pie recipe from now.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2009
Absolutely delicious! I used 6 slices of day old sourdough bread, crust and all. I followed all the directions, and it rose in the oven to make a beautiful, delicious dessert that was even better cold the next morning for breakfast!

The best cheesecake and easiest recipe! I didn't use a water bath but followed the rest of the recipe as it is written. It was delicous with a blackberry sauce on top! Yum yum!

Strawberry Dream Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
I made this cake exactly as directed but frosted it with a buttercream frosting instead of the frosting in the recipe, because I wanted a frosting that would hold up well to piping and decorating. As far as the cake goes, it is delicous but understand that it is a heavy cake with a similar texture to a muffin, and the strawberry flavor is very mild. I would say that if you understand those factors, you will enjoy it, but if you are looking for a light/fluffy cake texture, keep looking. This cake held up well to a stacked layer cake and I received many compliments on it.

Wedding Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
Delicious frosting that was easy to make, took coloring well, and held up well to piping and decorating. It had a nice flavor that was sweet but not too sweet (made exactly as directed with half butter, half shortening that I blended for approx 15-20 mins before adding sugar to get nice and fluffy) and complimented the strawberry cake I used it on very well. will definitely use this recipe again!
