About this Cook
I am a Christian woman, wife and stepmom to two beautiful girls, Madison(7) and Brooklyn(5). My husband and I both have big families that like to hangout and eat good food.
My favorite things to cook
I just love to make people smile with my food, so I'm always looking for fun new recipes and twists on old ones.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My husband family is traditional southern cooks and mine is a mix. My mom is from Oklahoma and New Mexico so she has the southwestern food influence and my dad is Mexican/American so I love spicy, hearty, ethnic foods.
My cooking triumphs
COOKIES!!!!! I really hate to bake but my husband has a huge sweet tooth and a weak spot for cookies so I always feel great when I master a good cookie.
My cooking tragedies
Wow! Being a working wife and step-mom, I am always multi-tasking. It seems that my major cooking blunders come when I'm focused on doing something else. You would think I would learn to only cook when I'm cooking, but my mom always said, "you should clean as you go along"..... What's a girl to do?

Wonderful Short Ribs
Really good! This recipe was not at all what I expected. The ingredients all work together to make this sort of BBQ sauce that is so good. I served this over rice with a side of steamed broccoli. YUMMY! It would be even better with a stew meat instead of the ribs too.

Johnsonville(R) Italian Sausage Lasagna
AMAZING! I changed a couple of things to make it spicier. I used spicy ground sausage instead of regular, spicy marinara sauce instead of four cheese and frozen spinach that was thawed and drained. So good!
