Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
Simple and tasty. I sometimes use djion mustard in place of the powder and I also add seasoned salt. Definitely mix up several times throughout cooking to keep the butter mixture evenly distributed. I think this side dish is a good accompaniment to slightly fancier entrees. I wouldn't serve it with hamburgers etc.. but I think it's worked well with honey mustard pork chops, garlic and herb roasted pork loin and chicken marsala.

Japanese Zucchini and Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
Delicious! I added some thinly sliced red pepper as well (put in the same time as the onion). Used equal parts sesame and vegetable oils. Instead of teriyaki sauce I used a bottled spicy schezwean sauce. So so good.

A wonderfully different potato side dish! Great as-is.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I used 3 chicken breasts, a can of broccoli cheese soup, a can of cream of chicken soup, a can's worth of milk and 2-3 T of sour cream and mayo. Used a whole block of cheddar chese and added 1/2 a package of cooked egg noodles. Tops with a sleeve or so of Ritz and lots of butter. Served with salad and bread. Nice meal!

Eggplant -- Easy, Good and Tasty

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I used panko that was thorougly seasoned. The coating adhered well. I used vegetable oil and my only complaint was that the rounds were pretty greasy. Next time I might try to just spray them with Pam.

Hoisin-Ginger Beef Skewers

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
I used 1 medium to large top round steak sliced very thin against the grain. I marinated the steak for 24 hours and decided to make a 2nd batch of sauce for dipping and because my boyfriend likes sauce on his rice. Only needed a minute or two on each side. I served with the japanese zucchini and onions and it was a great, quick weeknight meal.

Party Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2011
With a 5lb bag of wings I made some traditonal buffalo (fried), some grilled teriyaki and some of these. These were the best by far! So simple but tasty. I marinated for about a day and a half.

I only used the marinade of this recipe but it turned out really well. I added some cayenne and curry powder.

Easy Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
I only used the sauce recipe, to which I added some fresh garlic and ginger, lots of red pepper flakes and a couple splashes of sriracha. It was really good!

Easy Greek Yogurt Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
I left out the lemon zest (not a huge lemon fan in food) but it was fantastic! Simple as well. A+!

Dash's Donair

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2011
Based on previous reviews I did a combo of the food processor and knead/throwing-which was indeed quite fun! The texture was good; it sliced thinly after being refrigerated for a day. I doubled the spices, which might be overkill (and I like to really spice up my food). I used all ground round, but I think 1/2 ground lamb and 1/2 ground round would be tastier/more authentic. Fun recipe though!

Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Update: I boil spare ribs but bake baby backs at 250 for four hours, they always turn out tenter. My favorite rib recipe from this site. I now boil the ribs and they are indeed tender. The sauce is very good and simple. Still not like the slow-smoked variety but the best I've ever made at home.

Super Al's Cocktail Sauce

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
Wonderful. I used fresh horseradish root because it was on sale but I think next time I'll just stick with the jarred variety. It had a wonderful flavor but wasn't that spicy.

Cheesy Italian Pull Apart Bread

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
I had all of the ingredients on hand and needed to use the biscuits (they always get me with the coupons then I'm scrambling to use them up). I too think these would be better with homemade or rhode's dough but they were good. Added Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Pizza Seasoning and parmesan cheese to the cheese/sauce filling. Pepperoni would be great too. I served with Chicken Parmesan and pasta.

Stuffed Roast Turkey

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
Wonderful! I used real eggs, not subsitute and used about 4 stalks of celery but followed the rest of the recipe to a T. This made some fantastic traditional stuffing (the best kind is the stuff from the bird). I really jammed it in there and still had lots leftover which I baked in a seperate pan as directed. Temp and time was spot on as well. Didn't quite use the gravy recipe. I was a little nervous making my first turkey for my family but it couldn't have been easier or turned out better. Thanks!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
Pretty good. Very easy for a weeknight. I sauteed the peppers and onion with garlic and added them to the crockpot about an hour before serving. Had this with rice but egg noddles or mashed potatoes would be good too. I just thought it was lacking some flavor. If I make this again, I might add some hot sauce/worcestershire/etc..

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
This was very tasty. I topped the ham with swiss then put a mixture of cream cheese, parmesan cheese and thyme onto that. I dredged it in flour, dipped in egg and coated with crushed corn flakes seasoned with with garlic salt, pepper and paprika. I made the sauce (to serve on the side; I browned the chicken in butter then baked in the oven on a wire rack on a baking sheet) but the chicken honestly didn't need it. Also, I thought it lacked flavor. Next time I'll either try to tweak it or skip it all together.

Fabulous Football Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
As is, unexpectedly good but not very pretty. My friend modified and I've been using her recipe ever since: 1 package cream cheese, 1 lb tube hot sausage, 1 can rotel, 1 can nacho cheese sauce and 1 package or block of shredded cheddar cheese. So so good. I like to serve it from my smaller crockpot; keeps it nice and warm. Go Steelers!!
