Peruvian Lomo Saltado

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
This recipe is very authentic. In Peru, there are also different versions of this recipe. A lot of the people toss broccoli in there, string beans cut diagonally, or cauliflower with the rest of the same ingredients.

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
I made this recipe the other night. It came out good, but next time I would use just a little more sauce because the pasta soaks it all up.

Red Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
In Peru, they usually don't put mustard. Usually it's either with just the mayonnaise, or with lime juice & salt. It's called "Ensalada Rusa" which translates to "russian salad". Usually the people there add other vegetables to this salad, such as cut-up string beans(boiled), and peas or corn.

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
These are one of the best cookies I've tasted, and they cook really well too. I love it that they actually didn't come out flat. They are nice & fluffy. I didn't add as many chocolate chips as called for because I don't like too much chocolate in mine and I added some chopped walnuts. Wow, they're great!! Some reviewers said that they are too sweet-- NOT SO. I don't like cookies that are very sweet and these are perfect!

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
I love this recipe. I just reduced everything to 3 servings and omitted the tomatoes, put a little more cinnamon than called for and added a shredded carrot, some corn & peas. It turned out great! Thanks for the recipe!

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
Since everyone was ranting and raving about these brownies, I thought I had to try them. My grandma and mom made everything always from scratch, never ever from a box. Many people mentioned boxed brownies in their reviews. These are ok, but not the best. My grandma's are the best. I should have known anything that people said tasted like boxed brownies wouldn't come out so good.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
Pretty good recipe. I just used more milk instead of the heavy cream (I didn't have any) with 1 TBSP cornstarch to thicken it up. I tasted the sauce first, and I wasn't sure if I was going to like this dish, but when I tossed the linguine in the sauce, it was really good.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
I used to eat this dish in Peru a lot, it's called "arroz chaufa". It's best if the rice is a day or 2 old (in the fridge) and COLD! I add some sesame oil, which gives a nice flavor. Instead of the onion, I added chopped green onions instead. Delicious!

Zucchini Alfredo

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
WOW!!!!! This is the best recipe that I've made on this site. I used linguine instead of the egg noodles, and like other users, I chopped up about 1/2 of an onion and put a little garlic powder in with the 2 cloves of garlic. I also added some boiled chicken. I wasn't sure if the cream cheese would give it too much of a cream cheesy flavor, and it doesn't. It's the perfect amount. I mixed in shredded parmesan cheese, and It's a must to use fresh basil. DELICIOUS!!

Low-Fat Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
This soup was DELICIOUS. I doubled the recipe, and put cut up mushrooms in it. YUM! I added 3 cloves of garlic. First, in a little bit of cooking oil, I sauteed the chopped onion, garlic, celery & mushrooms. I also used 1% milk, and only put about 2 TBSP of cheese, not the whole amount, to reduce the fat content even more. I added some green onions at the end. GREAT RECIPE!!

Peruvian Chicken Soup (Aguadito de Pollo)

Delicious soup! Very authentic recipe. I just added some celery in with the onion to cook, and little more garlic. I feel like I'm in Peru eating this soup. Tastes and looks just like it's supposed to.

Cilantro Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
Very nice recipe. Just used regular white rice with turmeric to make yellow rice. The 2nd time I made it with brown rice and crushed tomatoes, very good also and cooked it in the rice cooker. I just sauteed the onion, garlic and bell pepper in a little bit of olive oil in a regular pot, and then added that to the rice cooker along with the other ingredients. I boiled chicken and cubed it instead of frying it.
