Teena's Overnight Southern Buttermilk Biscuits

Works out perfect everytime. I have made them and used the dough right away with great results as well. The flavor is more fully developed overnight, however.

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting

This is a great dessert for a big gathering - it makes a lot. The women loved it and wanted the recipe. It is easy to prepare. I did not allow enough refidgerater time and so I put it in the freezer for an hour to speed up the set-up process. It worked great!

Rolled Fondant

I made this fondant on a very humid day and had no problems and did not need to make any adjustments. It rolled perfectly and is a very nice consistancy. It does not get shiny like many other home-made versions of fondant. I did substitute exact proportions of karo syrup for the glucose syrup since I had it one hand. I will add a different extract to add more flavor next time.

Simple Scones

This was my first time making scones. This recipe was simple and turned out perfect. I made the cranberry/orange variation and we loved it. The portions of the scones are huge (the size of a piece of pie), so I will cut them into smaller pieces in future recipes.

Sugar Cookie Icing

I am not giving this "5" because you have to make adjustments to work with the consistancy as everyone has commented. The taste is great and the results are beautiful. I made this the first time and got it a little too runny with milk, and it lost it shine. I made it again and mixed the powder into the liquid and when I needed more moisture, I added = parts of corn syrup and milk in small increments. This time it was the perfect consistancy,very easy to work with, and still SHINY! I would say to anyone working on the consistancy that you need to spread it on a cookie and try it before adding more wet ingred. - looks are deceiving and that is how I got it too runny the first time. Great recipe!

Rolled Buttercream Fondant

This was my very first time working with fondant and I plan to do it more in the future with this recipe. I made the recipe according to the directions (I used butter flavored Crisco)and it turned out great, perfect consistancy. I dusted waxed paper with powdered sugar before rolling it out and that helped to get items off without distortion of tearing. Cut-out items are really easy as well. This is a great recipe with great flavor. Everyone at my party thought it was great. The fondant is a little shiny, but rubbing it with powdered sugar really helps if you are looking for a more satin appearance.
