Amish Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
I followed this recipe exactly, and I have to say that the leftovers for lunch the next day were amazing; the flavors had a chance to really come alive. My husband loved it, we have made this several times already. Thank you for sharing Duano.

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
I added some onions to this recipe and since I don't have mini loaf pans, I used muffin pans, worked out beautiful and cooked them for 30-40 minutes. The quick cooking oats were much better than using bread crumbs. Thanks for sharing Tonya.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: May 29, 2005
I made this last night for dessert, was told this was the best coconut cream pie ever. I did follow the advice of other readers using 1 1/2 cups of coconut milk, used extra toasted coconut in the pie, used heavy whipping cream for the top and topped it off with cinnamon, white chocolate and more toasted coconut. I also used a shortbread crust, YUMMY! Will try to make this recipe with other fruit, very versatile. Thanks Carol...making this one for Dad next!

Hot Jezebel

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
This recipe did scare me a bit, but due to all the positive feedback and the need to try something really different, I made it. It was great, and big hit. I asked all of my guests to try it, regardless of what it looked like, and boy did they start gobbling it up!!! We will be having Hot Jezebel for New Years Eve! thanks Jen!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
These were pretty good. I did use the phyllo cups as suggested, it was really easy. I skipped the onions and used scallions instead. I made one batch with mayonnaise and one batch with cream cheese. The cream cheese was much better. I also used cheddar cheese...yummy! thanks Kelli for sharing!

Best Spinach Dip Ever

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
Wow!! What a great recipe....! I followed the recipe exactly, except I left out the water chestnuts. I drained the spinach out well as suggested by the other reviews. I used a glass bowl in the bread to prevent the bread from becoming soggy. I will make this for New Years Eve, but am going to serve them with tortilla chips, I found the bread to be very filling. Thanks for sharing Shawna!!

Eggnog Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
I have made this two years in a row, and I always receive rave reviews. I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup of shortening. I also used rum flavoring instead of the vanilla. Great taste. Thanks Susan!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2004
This was the first time I have made bread (with yeast) from scratch, it came out perfect and delicious. My family loved it, and they have requested for me to make it again! It almost resembles the taste of portuguese sweet bread, but much more dense. Thanks for the great recipe!

Linguine and Clam Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2004
I have been making this for years, with the exception of adding butter. I use two cans of Whole clams (I love clams), minced clams just don't do it for me. I also add parsley, oregano, garlic salt and garlic powder. It is wonderful. Thanks Peg for sharing your recipe.....

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2003
This recipe is wonderful and so yummy! The only change I made was using butter flavor crisco instead of butter, I use that for all of my cookies so they aren't flat. This is now my absolute favorite cookie; I love the contrast of the sour and sweet. I made these this past weekend to hand out to fellow co-workers at work, and I have gotten tons of compliments. I am bringing these cookies with me on Christmas Day...I know they will be a hit. Thanks Diane for the great recipe!!!

Pizza Pinwheels

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2003
I thought these tasted really good. I took the advice of other members here. I grounded the pepperoni, and added pizza sauce on the crescent. I must admit I tried all different ways of keeping those seems closed, and they broke on me each time. Either way, everyone ate them. I have at least have two dozen rolled up in my freezer for late night snacking. Thanks for the great recipe...will make them again, maybe with linguica and cheddar cheese!!!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2003
I made this over the weekend for my Christmas party. I followed the recipe with the exception of the pecans (we do not like pecans). I used the nestle christmas morsels which made the cheese ball festive looking. I also added some miniature marshmallows. I serves them with the graham crackers sticks as suggested in another review. My guests (especially the women) just loved it, and all wanted the recipe. Thanks Kim for sharing your great recipe!!!

Bacon Roll Ups II

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2003
I thought this recipe was good, however, I used the onion and chive cream cheese which I did not particularly care for. I would have used the garlic cream cheese, but could not find any anywhere. I also used a thicker bread, which helped when spreading the cream cheese. I served these this past weekend at my christmas party, and I got tons of compliments, and a clean plate. Next time I may try the plain cream cheese simply for me. Everyone loved them!

Best Peach Cobbler Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2003
This recipe was good if you are looking for a cake like cobbler. I would double up the crust recipe, as I felt my was alittle thin. I mixed some brown sugar and nutmeg in the batter. I also used nectarines in place of the peaches. Yummy!
